You and @Mr. Scot‘s big “gotcha” is contingent upon a hypothetical that never came to fruition..? Why are you dealing in hypotheticals when we already know how the season played out (spoiler alert: CMC was healthy the entire season and dominated). Literally no one is arguing that cutting CJ Anderson wasn’t a dumb move at the time it happened...precisely for that reason (we had no depth behind CMC). My whole argument has been that this move ultimately ended up having NO bearing on our season...so I’m perplexed as to why there’s this 30+ page thread after the season is over about how terrible of a move it was to cut CJ Anderson. These threads would be justified back when we cut him...not now. It’s as simple as “ooooo!! CJ Anderson just dominated that playoff game! Wow we are such idiots for cutting him!”.

That would be like waiting til the end of Cam’s record rookie season and making a thread like “Wow what a stupid move by our GM to leave our season in the hands of a raw rookie QB and a second year bust...we should’ve signed a vet in case Cam wasn’t ready”.

 Literally every person in here has been arguing that exact point. I never said anything otherwise. Repeatedly. You are the first one to utter those words. And you tried to play it off with Steve Smith. 

And I posted these exact words and questions then, and got excuses. So if we agree that it was a “dumb” move at the time, what’s the issue? That’s where 30 pages of deflecting from the actual statement comes from. Have I made one false comment?

Dude what are you talking about? It was a dumb decision at the time but it turned out to be inconsequential to our season so why is there a thread talking about it now? This was a reactionary thread created after Anderson’s big game against the Cowboys...and is full of people saying “Wow CJ Anderson is dominating and we cut him...look how stupid our FO is”...WHEN IT MEANT NOTHING TO OUR SEASON.

What did I “try to play off”? All I’ve been arguing this entire time is that cutting CJ Anderson had no impact on our season so I’m not sure why people are still so pissed off about it after the season is over.

See if you can follow my logic here:

A) Cutting Anderson was a stupid move at the time because it gave us no depth behind CMC if he were to get injured.

B) CMC did not get injured and played at a very high level the entire season. We were first in the league in yards per rush, showing that our run game was elite when we used it.

C) A + B = no ultimate impact from the CJ Anderson release.

What are you talking about with the Steve Smith thing? That had nothing to do with you...that was pointing out Mr. Scot’s hypocrisy. Is he your alt or something? Why are you bitter about that?
