The whole reason Tepper bought the team with the lowest bid is because Jerry wanted him to buy it. You ever have a friend or acquaintance that wanted to buy something you are selling, and your friend says, FOR YOU, I can do it for cheaper than I could somebody else, but since you're my boy, FOR YOU, I can do this lesser price over my higher normal price.

JR is still linked to this franchise by virtue of, the guy he sold it to, Jerry chose. Tepper is essentially a Jerry Richardson hire.

Things he has done in months ownership, all of which are more bold moves that Richardson would have ever done.

He has not fired Rivera for a lot of reasons; this includes the uncertainty of Cam. Had Cam’s shoulder not gone to crap, this would have been a winning season and all here would be praising Cam’s best year, but would Rivera still need to go? That’s not on Rivera.  I believe Rivera has his issues he’s not going to change, his time is coming to an end and he is not the answer for the future, however this year is not the year to get rid of him.

Hurney wasn’t fired because it doesn’t make sense to force another GM to come in with a coach who will most likely be gone at the end of his contract or sooner.

Cam and Rivera tied to the hip? No. Hurney and Rivera? Absolutely.

Knee-jerk posters (have you see the forum on game day?) are mad that Tepper is not making knee-jerk reactions and instead is strategically approaching this team and in a matter of a few months (being generous) sample size as an owner, want to declare him Jerry Richardson 2.0. That is asinine. If you want to do that, he has until the year 2044 to win a super bowl to be an upgrade.   We don’t need a revolving door at head coach and with good change, timing is everything.

Sustainable, positive change from the top of the organization will initially take more time than a few months, I’d estimate 1-2 years IMO.  For any rational fan, the jury is out regarding Tepper.  Be skeptical and disagree with keeping Rivera or other decisions, but stop comparing him to JR after a few months of ownership just because he’s not reacting the same way the huddle’s fickle Madden experts are expecting him to.

I, for one, do not care about the statue of Jerry Richardson.  Stay, go, whatever... I prefer to focus my energy elsewhere.  

The only think I think about in regards to that statue is how his head looks like it’s turned at an unnatural angle... like a crooked LEGO head from my childhood toy collection.  It’s kinda LOL.

Tepper isn't Jerry Richardson, but he's not exactly Art Rooney yet either.

HIs being rich doesn't make him a good NFL owner. Dan Snyder, Jerry Jones and several others made themselves billions of dollars with their business acumen,  yet are still terrible NFL owners.

Neither is his being rich nor his not being  Richardson make him immune from mistakes. Keeping the current train wreck of a leadership team definitely qualifies as one.

You can say "patience" if you want, but while Tepper may be new in his role, neither Ron Rivera nor Marty Hurney are new to theirs. There's plenty of "game tape" on which to evaluate the two of them separately and the both of them together. The vast majority of it is not good (it is, in fact, terrible).

So no, I'm not going to trust that he's a good owner just because he's a billionaire. That's a truly false assumption.

I'll save my kudos till I see him turning the team in the right direction.

Both of our Super Bowl losses came because we were fixed against. It really doesn't make a fug who the coach or players are, when it's your time to be rigged a Super Bowl victory it's your time, and when it isn't, it isn't. Why Eagles are rolling despite not having the QB they gave up the farm for. If you are rigged to win your starters will have good numbers. If your starters have good numbers and you aren't rigged to win they go to waste, like Rivers throughout the years.

Belichick sucks. He just happens to coach a team the NFL chose to have a dynasty. Same with Foles, he just happened to end up being the QB on a team the NFL had slated to win it all.

He really came out of the gates fast. Tailgating with fans, fireworks shows, the logo, uniform carousel. People bought in. Probably should have paced himself a bit. 

I would advise him to be a little less accessible, while slowing his roll on the branding overhaul. It may piss some readers here off, but it would probably serve him well.

It’s a business, and it should be for all who invest time and dollars into the support of the franchise. That’s how I have always approached this. The hero worship crap is fool’s gold. JR never got a free pass from me, so why would I give one to a billionaire I only became aware of last year.

He has to earn that respect. Thus far, the totality of his impact has stuck a neutral (borderline negative) chord with me. But you can bet your ass, I’ll be first in line to sing his praises if the entire franchise trends up.
