Hate to see Pep, Ryan, and TD go out like that.

 

7 game losing streak, looked primed for a playoff run, suspension (TD), etc...

However, this is likely the right choice long term.

Hats off to my favorite Panther.  Hell of a career, and man.

 Although it’s a good sign for the future, if TD wanted to play for 2.5M, I’d bring him back. I’d give Pep 3M. Two less holes to fill this offseason. You still address DE like Pep is gone, but use him situationally and keep him fresh. I doubt we find any players in FA with better value potential than either at those prices. 

  I’d talk Reid into being TDs replacement and get him out of safety salary hell. He would be an asset in coverage instead of a liability. And has no problem attacking the run. Have him erase TEs. Leave the other 5  DBs to cover the WRs.

Vet minimum is 1 million. Rumor is TD was willing to play for a little over vet minimum so he could stay in Carolina.

At 1.5 - 2 million per year, these are the comparables for outside linebackers per OTC. TD at that price doesn't look like a bad option.

Not saying it won't happen, but doubt that this is accurate. 

That being said, I think Davis on a team-friendly minimal contract >> Shaq on a 'cashing in' prime of his career contract. 

Regardless, we need to address LB by the end of day two of the draft.
