Another embarrassing thread...

I sincerely hope some of you are not this defeatist in your personal lives...

Just a ridiculous thing to post at this point. We are months away from free agency and the draft where we have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds of what is projected to be one of the best drafts for defensive lineman in some time which happens to be our biggest need. On top of that, this team just had one of the best drafts in franchise history. Samuel and Moton showed elite potential in their 2nd years. CMC showed he could be arguably the best combo rushing/receiving back in the league...

If you are truly that pessimistic, you really should sit a season out or pick another team. Do yourselves and everyone else a favor...

What about qb?

If Cam isn’t going to do anything different to correct his shoulder like surgery or get second opinions, sit some time out...whatever, I’d rather tank for a QB draft pick in 2020 than see Ron scramble with a back up QB, FA game manager or god forbid send a hurt/tired cam out again to scramble to 8-8,9-7 to save his ass and have absolutely no hope for the future of the qb position.

I hear you. It’s hard to read through doom and gloom posts. But in a way I have to agree with OP. On a day when the Bucs grabbed a successful head coach, and rumors that Todd bowles a very good DC (not HC), will join him. Atlanta picked up Koetter from TB as their new OC. Again good OC terrible HC. NO obviously doing ok there. Meanwhile crickets in Carolina after an abysmal 7 game slide. I look at our team and we haven’t got any exceptional younger talent. I hope for the best but the Panthers need some good news to pick them up. Coaching, draft, FA, trade. Something.

No younger talent?

Pretty good RB

Pretty good TE

Pretty good CB

two decent WR’s

It's an odd year.  Rivera will somehow win 9 or 10 games to save his job then follow it up with another 6 or 7 win campaign in which he scapegoats anyone but himself.  Rinse, wash, repeat.

our schedule indicates this will happen. When we play the AFC North and West, we suck. When we play the East, which is full of Jobber teams and the South, which ironically has improved, but we fair well b/c most of those franchises are in futility.

How many did players did we draft in the last 3 drafts? And you list 5 player with only one being a proven guy.

If Cam plays with an arm that hasn't properly healed or if some obscure backup plays in his place, chances are the results will be about the same, Panthers post another losing season in 2019.

Ron didn't roll over for a meaningless game in NO, so there is no reason to believe he's going to tank an entire season.

If anything, Ron is preparing to give his best performance as the Panthers Head Coach in 2019.

Rivera always seems to coach his best when he's on the hot seat.

Looking at the playoff teams,  talent in the trenches is an obvious common similarity for most of them.  Cam would have got his ass mauled if we made it in.  So we have plenty of good young skill position  talent.  I say go balls deep in on D AND O line.  What's more valuable than studs linemen on rookie contracts(outside of QB).  Take that norwell pick  (3rd round)and pick a starter alone either side of the line.
