Found this...hmm, he is definitely going to be traded IMO.  Doubt it is here though.

A team that traded for Brown would get him at cap costs of $15.125 million in 2019, $11.3 million in 2020 and $12.5 million in 2021. None of that is guaranteed. The team would get one of the top wide receivers in the NFL at a cost of $12.975 million per year with no guarantees.

The money part isn't bad at all for him.  The problem is the assets you would probably have to give up for him.  I think this team needs to get younger and add some talent at several positions.  Best and cheapest way to do that is with draft picks.

Also we have two receives, Moore and Samuel, that seem to be developing well.  Not sure if the money and assets wouldn't help the overall team more at other positions.

I think it's wrong to assume his current attitude would just carry over here. Until this beef he was about as much of a difficult diva as Cam is. He's over that situation and it's a much different one here.

That being said I don't think it makes much sense now. He's practically the perfect WR but Moore and Samuel are a healthy shoulder away from being more then fine for us. We have other needs.

Oh I agree he won’t be coming here but someone will pull the trigger IMO.  Just pointing out he is fairly affordable.  Of course he quit in that last Steelers game with the playoffs on the line.

Heard yesterday that (who was it... team president?) someone said that the Steelers did not anticipate him being there for training camp.  That they were 'exploring all other options'.  They said he wouldn't be cut, though. So, and correct my math here if I'm off, cut + play + trade + kill = all available options?

 

Last time a big name WR had this kind of talk around him, I think he went to the Pats for a 3rd (Moss).  that's IIRC. 

 

If we are getting him for a 3rd, anyone opposed to that?

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos "may be plotting at run" at trading for Antonio Brown.

The Jets, 49ers, and Colts are also expected to have interest. Pittsburgh has made clear they plan to move on from Brown despite his dead cap hit. Brown is entering his age-31 season and is one of the highest paid receivers in the league, so he's unlikely to command the first-round value Oakland got for Amari Cooper. The Steelers may have to settle for a pair of Day 2 picks.

I definitely dont think we're a realistic option, but I just wanted to say I definitely don't think he commands a first round pick...  the WR market is volatile and unpredictable...  Brandin Cooks was traded for a first round pick, while other guys haven't garnered the same return.  Also, Brown is 30 and has a history of locker room/off-field drama...  I'm guessing a 3rd round pick at most.

I think we have too many holes on the lines that we need to fill in the draft, those day 2 picks are important for us.  Maybe a 3rd this year and a 3rd next... but he's going for more than that - probably at least a 2nd and WR just isnt a big enough need for us to justify sinking the draft capital into.  That and where we are sitting with the cap, it just dosnt make sense for us.  It would be somthing to have a healthy Cam slinging it to Brown though.
