Fox willing to bench Jake

I agree with those that are beginning to bash Gross...what is his issue? Every week he either apologizes for crappy play or is defending Jake. Why doesn't he just keep his mouth shut? He basically said that neither Matt Moore nor Jay Feeley could start next week and them have any chance of winning. I would bet any amount of money that if Moore would have started today he would have thrown no more than 3 picks...and if thats the case why not start him and let him get reps. See if he's the future. If Fox wants to stay here (who knows if he does) then he needs to put all his chances on Moore. If Moore plays even remotely well down the stretch it could give Fox a chance to come back.

Honestly the poor decisions from the top to the bottom in the entire organization over its entire history but especially here lately has me shrugging my shoulders in total indifference. I'd feel much better about the near future if Fox and his staff were immediately replaced with high school coaches.

This sounds like Fox has already considered that the decision has been made for him. He has no choice.

I honestly feel bad for Jake at this point. I didn't the first couple weeks of the season because I was so pissed off about him slinging INTs and I still had hope that we would have a good season. At this point, I realize this season is a wash and I can see things for what they are now.

Jake obviously doesn't mean to go out there and make horrible decisions and throws... Problem is, he does it anyway. And too often at that. I loved Jake in his prime even with the occasional erratic throws... The guy could play, and he played with fire. I have a lot of good memories about Jake's play... But, like I said, at this point I feel bad for him.

It's like seeing your dog in its old age - things just keep going wrong with it, and its coming close to the inevitable... But it just keeps hanging on. You don't want to remember it that way. You want to remember it in its youth, the way it was. What Fox is doing to Jake is unfair.

Everyone on this board knows I'm as fair as they come in evaluating Jake's play - always have been. But, Fox has got to take responsibility for this. He should've pulled Jake vs Arizona, Philly, and today... To leave him out there to be eaten alive, knowing he isn't just in a funk, he's DONE physically... If he doesn't make the decision now, he is going to make it a very bitter ending for Jake. He has been great, he's sucked at times, and there's been times he hasn't done either. That's Jake.

But, it's clear he has been the best QB over any extended duration of time in our franchises history, and we have been the most successful with him a the helm (whether it was b/c of him or despite him, whatever you prefer). At least let the guy go out with the dignity he deserves. Let him ride off into the sunset as the "mentor." Just please, make the move...

    • It may seem like our rookies have fairly low yards. But If you combine the yards for Coker,  Legette, and J.Sanders, you get 800 which is more than Neighbors or BTJ.  Also Coker is the only UDFA on this list the fact that he's on any kind of top list as UDFA makes him arguably our best move this off season for the price we paid to get him. Slam Dunk off-season by Dan Morgan. Especially if Brooks shows us something this season. We've already seen Trevin Wallace doing some good things. Getting anything out of Smith Wade or Crumedy would be a bonus. Rarely do 5th to 7th Rounders work out. In a sort of strange way that Michigan LB we drafted in the 7th got us a serviceable backup CB in Mike Jackson. So there's that too. Imagine if Morgan has just as good as of an off-season before the 2025 season for the defensive side of the ball.
    • I love Cam, and want the org to celebrate him, but they've told him why things are how they are (he isn't retired) and he says he just isn't going to and expects them not to care... I get he's never playing again, but just sign the papers to retire and call their bluff...
    • I'm happy those 2 are finding success elsewhere. Chinn never lived up to the hype after his rookie season and Luvu just wanted to go play in Dan Quinn's defense that suits him perfectly. I can't hate on that.
