Oooorrr...maybe try a comeback that doesn't sound like it came from a 12 year old?

(just a suggestion)

This topic always seems to make you really emotional, and you wind up acting childish. You claim it doesn't bother you, yet you post stuff like "cry baby, cry".

Yeesh :eyeroll:

I'm emotional? Go worship at the makeshift shrine to your Gettlegod! After that, go cry about Hurney and curse Tepper!

Matt Kalil signing reaked of JR and Rivera with a hint of his brother. His contract was a two year contract we could be out of this offseasons but Hurney gave him another year last off season with more guaranteed money? None of that passes the smell test.

The contract was setup to the point where the option bonus had to be triggered. Otherwise the 10m would have converted to salary for this past season plus his salary for 2018 would've been fully guaranteed. Had to be done by 3/9, so no choice really.

it was and still is a horrible contract, does have a potential out after year 3 though.

I find it very illogical and borderline moronic to believe since someone has fail at something in the pass they’re unable to learn from past mistakes and do a better job given a second chance. If that’s the case everyone in here would be ass out in society if all we had was one shot to get it right. Hurney leash should be short just like Rivera’s but there’s not one move he’s made since being back that I can point to and say that’s an fireable move. Trust in tepper, if hurney starts messing up I’m confident in tepper to make the best decision for the team and replace mediocrity asap

Oh yeah.  That's a mature, reasoned response :eyeroll:

You can't lecture anyone about reasoned responses when you litter the forum with Negative Nancy anti-Hurney bullshit in half the threads.

And, try and deny all you like, everyone that's paying attention knows with 100 percent surety that criticising Gettleman is your trigger. It's simply Pavlovian.

It's pretty pathetic that you and your boyfriend take every opportunity to try and pull people down about the state of the team and squish all hope or any sliver of positivity or optimism they may have about the Panthers, notwithstanding Hurney, Rivera or whoever. It's sad. You need to seriously consider taking a break.

I'd be pretty willing to let any objective party read my posts and yours and see which one of us they think needs "a break".

"Squishing all hope"?  Really? You're starting to talk like somebody who's off their meds, dude.

Your modus operandi is old. I've already stated it in this thread. You deflect, skip around the subject, try and pass opinion off as fact, try and manipulate discussions by simply disregarding what people say (like they never said anything at all) belittle people who disagree with you by calling them silly, moronic---whatever. You sound like you're the one that's mentally disturbed.

Everyone knows how you feel about Hurney and Rivera! You don't have to take potshots at them in half the forum. It truly is Pavlovian. That's the best word for it. Mention anything remotely positive about Hurney or Rivera, or maybe just the names at all, and here you come! It's not productive, or conducive to any kind of decent discussion.

Perhaps if you just stick to potential coaches type of threads you'll feel better. Most actually probably appreciate those threads the most coming from you. But if all you can do is moan and cry about Hurney, Rivera, Tepper or whoever at what seems like every turn, then you do need to take a break. If you're not enthusiastic about next season and know that it's going to be a complete failure, then consider taking the year off. Others of us just want to deal with what is in as positive manner as we can, considering the circumstances, and root for the entire organization to succeed.

True. I’m tired of both of them. The last two drafts have been good. I think 2017 was better and would have helped us get rid of Ganope and save $14. The only problem with last year’s draft is that with 4 picks in the top 88, I think we should have done better. Moore was easy. Norv drooled over him and we got a nice gift of picking our choice of the top WR. Donte faded in the second half but I think he’ll be good and he was a solid pick. Gaulden was awful. He’s not going to be good. Ian Thomas was a good pick as well and honestly the one I was happiest with because after day two, he was one of the guys available that I really wanted. Haynes was a bad pick as well. The rest, we’ll see. I liked Carter in preseason but he got turned around and missed some tackles in week 17.

I’m only a little disappointed because it could have been a great draft (real safety like Harrison instead of Gaulden and Hurst or Crosby instead of Haynes) and I think that’s one of Hurney’s past issues. We got 3 contributors in the draft, but squadoosh out of the FAs. We lost Norwell, Williams and Olsen and the DL got no help and that’s why a GM is more than just a couple draft picks and we got worse. Some could say but, but we were 6-2 and yet we were a 21 point comeback and a 63 yarder with no time away from 4-4. Building the entire team is what we need. You need to get a Short, Star, Turner and Norwell+ in back to back drafts but also get Oher, Coleman, Tillman and Allen+ in FA to actually contribute and then you can get back to back playoffs and 4 out of 5.

We need a great 2019 draft and also hit on a couple FAs and we can get back in the playoffs.

Yeah, the Gaulden pick was a head scratcher. I thought that it would be Harrison. I will say that I don't think Jackson really faded, he just gave up a couple of big plays. Rookies do that. He got back to his old self when Rivera took over the defense. Moreover, I'm still holding out hope for Haynes, but his age does concern me in regards to whether or not he can actually get bigger.

I'm happy with Moore (was happy when we drafted him), but I must say that he wasn't a consensus pick. Hurney made the pick, he should get the credit.

I think that Thomas might be the type of pick that simply turns out as the biggest steal of the draft. For me, it erased the stank of the Gaulden pick.

Don't overlook Smith and Carter! I have a suspicion that at least one of them is going to make an impact before it's all said and done.  At worst, I think that one of them is going to turn out as a great value when juxtaposed against their draft position.

Yeah, this place is just filled with optimism over us keeping our current leadership and here I am trying so hard to crush it :eyeroll:

(you really can't handle when someone disagrees with you)

I'll explain again a distinction that some just don't seem to understand. There's a huge difference between hoping the team succeeds in believing that it will. I've illustrated before with the example of the team keeping Jimmy Clausen over Cam Newton. Had that happened, we could still hope for success, but it'd be pretty damn hard to believe in it.

Speaking of believing, you talk about believing in Tepper with an almost religious zeal. Likewise, you treat disbelief in the team's leadership as if it were a form of betrayal.

It's just football, dude. Chill out.

As for Tepper, he's proven as a businessman. So is Dan Snyder. I'll believe in him as an owner when he gives me reason to. Jury's still out at the moment.

I said that I believe in Tepper for now. Unlike you apparently, I don't have any reason as of yet not to believe in him. Sorry, Giving Hurney and Ron another season to right the ship doesn't make me lose faith. I've already given the reasons why I thought that it was reasonable from his perspective. I'm just fascinated to see how it all turns out. You don't agree, but stop trying to act like I and others have lost our marbles simply because we decide to be optimistic about the team. Stop calling people illogical, silly, moronic, etc. just because they see things from a different perspective. Stop the tiresome passive aggressive potshots about the Panthers leadership and everyone that you disagree with. Stop giving tacit approval to your buddy who is obviously off his rocker as well, referring to me as a "d-bag" because I have a difference of opinion as to why Tepper apparently wants to roll with the current leadership of the Panthers, and someone who expressly said that he wants me to think of him as a "dick." You're the one that said "it's just football, dude." How about you act like it and stop getting outraged every time someone disagrees with you and accusing people of being emotional when the things that you are doing are the epitome of being emotional, and overly so. It's not a good look or befitting of a man of your age and self-professed knowledge of the game.

Far from "outraged". "Disappointed" would be more accurate.

Now if I were using terms like "Gettledouche", "Gettlegod" or "your boyfriend" then I could see how someone might see me as a tad emotional (and perhaps slightly unhinged)
