Nick "Super Bowl MVP Who's A Really Humble Guy That Wants To Be A Pastor" Foles?

That's a lotta red meat to a significant portion of this fanbase. We're talking QB Controversy from Hell.

Not that it will ever happen.

Yeah Jeremy didn't look at the contract when he made this clickbait thread.

Teams will be willing to give Foles 20-25 million per year.  Teams will offer 1st round picks.  Honestly, the Eagles might be smarter to trade Wentz and grab a couple 1st's for him.  Terrible thread is terrible, but par for the course here lately.

So “good” threads are dismal talk,.. doomsday, Panthers suck, Tepper sucks, Cams in a wheel chair, our cap space is negative numbers, and the only quarterback we can start with going forward is RG3,...

that would be a great thread.

good lord.

We have 2 factions— solutions, hope, and possibilities,... and doomsday, no solutions, no originality masked by trolling and bashing others— a 3rd if you count the folks that are not here for football and spend time on a football board arguing about racism and social justice.

que the “Mad World” soundtrack— my preference is American Idol version over the REM version. Ha

interesting take there and jumping to some fun conclusions.  This example, of a thread that would never happen that various readers and idiots are going to jump into and think is a possibility?  Yeah, not a good thread.

The doomsday, Panthers suck, Tepper sucks, etc. threads?  Also, terrible threads.  Also started mostly, by the trolls and alts that Jeremy and others have let run wild so that decent threads about the season, about the future, about the draft and cap with actual intelligent and decent points get pushed down for more "Should the Panthers trade for Nick Foles??!?!?" type crap. Threads, based in absolute idiocy with zero thought put into them, that one Google about his contract or knowledge of the situation would immediately make a normal person laugh at.  But, Jeremy also got what he wanted from this thread.  He threw the grenade and within a couple hours it's at multiple pages, people are arguing, etc.

So what you want to talk about is smart and everyone else are idiots.

got it.

psychiatists could help you with that. Medication too.

In this thread, about a trade for Nick Foles...the guy who will get 20+ million next season regardless of who he plays for and having a trade value of high end picks?

And people are saying ohhh yesss do that trade for a mid round pick, without even looking at the contract or cap ramifications?  Yeah I'd say there's a clear difference in critical thinking skills in this thread.

For your other question above.  Yes, an IR'd player counts against the cap.  Maybe won't meet certain incentives in their salary, but if players didn't count against the cap on IR we'd have our Matt Kalil solution.

Actually people that think like you do hold the world down.

Tesla, Edison, Musk, Gates, Von Braun.. all lived in possibilities and making dents in the universe.

football translation would be Sean McVae, the Bears— wow the Bears— trade the world for a DE? The cowboys traded a 1st round pick for a 1 year rental receiver,.. how’s that working out? He had over 100 yards and was a big factor in going to and winning a playoff game for them.

the fact is that people that bash others by constantly telling everyone that the world is at an end, build a wall or all the little brown people will destroy America, and don’t go to space because it’s more important to spend the money on war are the ones that keep lightbulbs from being invented.

we would all still be in the dark ages

oh i just had to add this— Rugby becoming invented from soccer, a dreamer picks up a soccer ball and runs down the field to dive into the goal as a frustration joke— and Rugby is born— dreamer,.. probably completely idiotic.

football gets born because Rugby was close to being outlawed, too many fights playing in the US, a Scrum becomes the line of Scrimmage, and some idiot invents the forward pass with a lot of people saying it was an “idiotic” discussion

there would be no football, Disney, Hollywood, Apple, Mini Coopers or a United States for that matter without dreamers who aren’t scared of rules or confines.

damn the Chargers Ravens are so boring—

Eagles are not gonna trade Foles for a mid round pick when they had offers for a first rounder this past offseason. And Foles in Carolina under Rivera = Foles in Stl under Fisher

In addition it will cost the Iggles 20 million to keep Foles. He will be released, not traded.

https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/12/26/nick-foles-carson-wentz-philadelphia-eagles-contracts-2019

The reigning Super Bowl MVP is on the books for a striking $20 million salary in 2019. Whether he receives that salary—at least whether he receives it from the Eagles—is a serious question. Here is the definitive summary of the mutual option, for both the Eagles and Foles, in the current contract.

1. The Eagles must decide if they are going to exercise the option to keep Foles (and his $20 million salary) 30 days prior the 2019 league year, meaning in the week following the Super Bowl.

2. If the Eagles do not exercise the option, Foles becomes a free agent.

3. If and when the Eagles exercise the option, Foles must make a decision in the five days after that.

4. If Foles decides to void the option and cancel the contract, he must concurrently pay back the Eagles $2 million, the amount of his 2018 signing bonus, and he will then become a free agent.

5. If Foles decides not to void the option and remain with the Eagles, the $20 million salary becomes fully guaranteed on the fifth day of the 2019 league year (March 18).

To summarize, the Eagles have the first decision point: whether to keep Foles at a $20 million salary. But even if they do, Foles can invalidate that decision by paying back $2 million and becoming a free agent. Alternatively, Foles can accept the option and his contract would become fully guaranteed if he is not released prior to March 18.
