Would you be willing to sit Cam an entire season and see how he does after?

It's not up to us.  But if I were the coach I would need to know how serious the problem with his shoulder is.   I would need to know what the prognosis is for a full recovery and the time frame needed to get there.

Then I would have to get the owner to tell me if we are in it to win it or trying for the number 1 pick next year.  The answer to that question will determine whether he sits or not.

Absolutely.  Whatever it takes to get him back to 100% or as close to it as he can get.  I'm not writting off that he won't be ready for next season though, if not from the start, at some point.  And I'm fine with riding with Allen or whoever can beat him out in the mean time.  Let Cam heal.  Focus on strengthening the Oline and let our backup QB rely on our weapons to carry the load. Add some pass rush and then even with waiting on Cam we could play some good football.

This all depends on what his doctor says. If it's a sure thing that resting it will get him back to 100 percent then yes. You rest the man. No amount of pouting on his end will change that.

Draft a guy or roll with whoever. Free agency is another option. But this situation is only possible with what his doctors say.

I’ve been an advocate for this for several weeks now.

Obviously we don’t know the full extent of what’s going on, but I think I’ve seen enough to know he needs extended time to truly get his shoulder and mind right.
