Any player, regardless of grade or where they are drafted can be a bust, but do you really think there are will be 50 players with higher grades on team's boards than Williams?

Who knows? I said it was all my opinion. And with his lack of ability to play LT, plus a near 20 year streak of Bama OL disappointing in the NFL, I don’t want him in our first two picks. Went through this with Cam Robinson, Cyrus Kuandjio, James Carpenter, Fluker, Warmack etc.....,

Football becomes tougher when you’re not allowed to hold on every play.

I've said before

C and OT

Dallas has always made sure their oline good, a huge reason why under Garrett they've only had 1 losing season. Unlike here

Yet they have one playoff win since 2009 and gave up second most sacks this season. It's not all rosey.

We beat them by sacking their QB and stopping their run.

We got 6 of our measly 34 sacks against Dallas. That's going to put them out of the playoffs again.

And yet here they are in the playoffs and Panthers at home. They can put up back to back winning seasons. That's fine we've won more playoffs games, but neither of us won the game that matters the most - The Superbowl any time lately

They also got their franchise QB healthy instead of playing him utterly wounded.

Oh and they fired a failing mediocrity at their HC position and brought in a creative younger offensive mind to take his place.

Tepper, however, decided the Hurney/Rivera Regime was exactly what he was looking for.

That’s how an Erik Flowers gets taken top 10 because he was the best LT in a horrible class

You can do equally with naming draft picks of every single other type. DE, OLB, QB, WR,.. RB.

jeez

just pick a good one

I’m the same way. Which is why I think it’s laughable to suggest we have to take any singular position with our first pick(s). Isn’t that what you’re suggesting is a good idea?

There’s 3 top 15 pick tackles,.. and one of them should be the pick. That would be the most desirable.

Obviously you want another position drafted.

Since the draft is so DLine heavy, those can wait for pick number 2.

I have to agree with going with a quality OL  right now.  It’s too early too tell until after the combine and senior bowls.

I love this time of year and enjoy watching tape, reading player profiles and doing mock drafts.   My first choice of need is for a DE.  But I think all the top tier DE will be gone by 16. I think there might be a couple guys but they look like more of 3-4 DEs left.  Zach Allen might be there but it might be a little high for him.  Jachai Polite might be there but he is a little undersized for 4-3  but his analytics are awesome.

If Jonah Williams,LT  is there at 16 that is a no brainer.  At DE, Sweat will be there but his analytics suck. So no thanks. Could look at Austin Bryant or Chase Winovich in the second.

Deonte Thompson the Alabama safety might be there.  But his analytics aren’t good also.  I keep bringing up the analytics because that is Teppers hot button and I think he has a leash on Hurney regarding statistics.

I am not that confident that we will resign Williams this offseason   And our best option actually looks like possibly moving Moton to LT   Yes I know all the talk on here that they only view him as a RT.  But I’m not so sure that doesn’t have to do more with Clark being comfortable on left side.  If that’s the case then there are a bunch of really good RTs coming out.

One option at 16 might being a really versatile OL, Dalton Risner of Kansas State    He is a really good center who was moved to LT his senior year. He is a mauler.  More of a center though which is a need with the interior pass rush of the nfl lately and that I don’t trust Larsen. Time will tell if he grades out that high.

Cody Ford is another name to watch but he might grade out to be a guard at the next level

Yodney Cajuste is a very athletic but it’s too early to tell  due to the talent he faced a WVU

I really want a DE but I think winning that last game fugged us on that one IMO. We better hope Washington can develop Obada and Haynes it could be a long year

Where as I see 3 barely top 50 Pick OTs and any of them would be a huge reach at 16. Considering we need S, CB, and Mainly DE as much if not more than OL, I don’t see why I would pass up quality at a position of greater need.
