You haven't heard the argument that him being as good as he was actually hurt our offense?

I'm not kidding. One of our resident dumbasses has actually been trying to put that out there :)

(I forget which one; does it matter?)

I know we talking about CMC but Barkley had an insane 94 broken tackles...anyway carry on

Yeah, that was ridiculous. I get why people were saying he was the next Tomlinson. Dude is the truth and only a matter of time before he is considered the very best in the league, and if he stays healthy he has a chance to break records.

we've seen it several times today when OTHER players fuged up lol. it's the new "dammit cam oh im sorry i cant criticize cam without getting crucified around here" when mccaffrey fumbles or some poo

2 of the first 3 plays of the game were mccaffrey runs for a total of 17 yards. from that point on carolina running backs totaled 3 yards on the ground. yikes.

really goes to show how much pressure cam had to deal with for nearly the entire game. need more from your high investment skill position players like mccaffrey imo.

also what was the deal with him falling down on that one pass that looked like it could go for 6? tv angle wasn't the best but did he just trip over his own feet? what was he doing out there today?

with 13 minutes left in the 1st quarter carolina running backs went on to gain 3 yards on the ground over the course of the game. in the moment it seemed like mccaffrey was going down on first contact a lot but i guess i'd have to see all-22 to know for sure. might need to consider playing anderson more. offense needs energy and consistency. let mccaffrey line up in the slot or w/e.

mccaffrey isn't a top tier running back so when things aren't going great for him you can't keep forcing it to him (15 touches) and expecting him to get it together. he was generally ineffective today and because of that it put more on cam's plate. 2.5 yards per carry is not a winning formula and it's a joke that no other back got a touch. ~6 yards per catch isn't very good either. he was a net negative today. not enough in either facet of the game.

On 10/14/2018 at 7:23 PM, GOOGLE JIM BOB COOTER said:

he isn't. he has rushed for more than 66 yards 1 time in his career (26 games). people want to dismiss games like this as an outlier but if you look at his career that bengals game looks more like an outlier than any other game. almost a quarter of his career rushing yards came in one game. remove the one outlier and he's sub 4 yards per carry for his career.

i'm ok with him starting for now but it's an issue that will hopefully be corrected.

i specifically referenced his career statistics. he has not shown the ability to be a lead back in the nfl. right now he needs anderson to take the pressure off. let him line up more as a receiver. that's the aspect of his game that has translated to the nfl.

this play is cracking me up too.

not criticizing cam's decision making here for the same reason the dude who posted it isnt BUT you can bet your ass the same people blaming cam today would have lost their minds if mccaffrey and moore were switched here and mccaffrey came that wide open and cam "missed" him.

force the ball to mccaffrey 3 straight plays. probably could have been a touchdown on the first play if he had followed his blockers. 3 and out.

it doesn't help that we're headed into week 15 and this coaching staff still hasn't realized that curtis samuel is the best non-cam player on this offense

mccaffrey isn't cerebral enough to make that block

iirc we are 2-8 in games this season where mccaffrey accumulates 100+ yards from scrimmage

do you want to win football games or do you want christian mccaffrey to have good counting stats?

On 12/23/2018 at 4:47 PM, GOOGLE JIM BOB COOTER said:

the original post was taken from another thread in response to someone blaming stalled drives on mccaffrey's lack of touches. dude had 33 fuging touches today. im pretty sure that's not the problem here and it hasn't been all season. stats suggest that we actually have more success in games where he has less touches but i guess those are the stats you don't want to talk about lol

On 12/23/2018 at 4:51 PM, GOOGLE JIM BOB COOTER said:

teams give mccaffrey those check downs because they're not afraid we're going to beat them deep?

seems to me that they had more respect for our injured quarterback's ability to beat them deep than they had for mccaffrey to beat them on YAC-dependent catches

On 12/23/2018 at 6:34 PM, GOOGLE JIM BOB COOTER said:

but going forward it should be seen as a red flag for the state of this offense when mccaffrey is playing so many snaps and getting so many touches, especially in losses.

don't think i've forgotten the times you defended nolan nawrocki's racist hit piece on cam. you're not in the position to be calling anyone a dumbass.

I've actually been a Cam Newton defender for quite a while now.

So you're basically admitting that race plays a part in what you're saying about McCaffrey?

We have not shown as a team that McCaffrey can be the engine of our offense while we are also a good team

When your qb cant throw deep and the opposing defense checks up to defend everything shallow you arent going to win games.

2 stats why the Panthers havent been winning. 0 completions over 30 yards and only 9 over 20 yards.

lol how in the world did you get that from the quoted post? again, you are in no position to be calling anyone a dumbass

it's not a coincidence that the man who defended the "fake smile" take is uniquely sensitive to any mccaffrey position short of "that white boy can run!!!!"

You'll love this comment then...

The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder clearly proved he can handle the load at the NFL level and has positioned himself to be the future of the Panthers' offense -- even with Cam Newton under center.

That much is obvious from the 20 or so quoted posts. While I have no doubt that they support CMC as a player and a Panther when it all comes down to it, their tongue-in-cheek attempts to trigger bigots gives way to that whole saying about dying a hero or living long enough to become the villain. At this point, they just aren't mature enough to check their ego and ask themselves what exactly they are accomplishing and whether or not that is what they originally intended.

It's unfortunate too, as I agree with them whole-heartedly on a variety of socio-political issues but gawd dayum is it painful to watch them lower themselves the way that they do in a desperate attempt to mindlessly troll. Makes me wish that I could block users on one section of the board but not others. There are a few users that post some pretty good stuff about the Hornets that I like to read too, but holy poo their opinions on the Panthers are cancerous.
