TRIVIA: Three Panthers rookie QBs won their first start

Who knows who they are, and what years they did it? I had to look it up last night to confirm what I thought.

EDIT: To hell with it, I'll divulge:

Chris Weinke - 2001 at Minnesota
Matt Moore - 2007 vs. Seattle
Kyle Allen - 2018 at New Orleans

Of the other four rookie quarterbacks to start a game, it took Kerry Collins (1995) three games to win; Randy Fasani (2002) never won in two starts; Jimmy Clausen (2010) needed eight starts to win and Cam Newton (2011) only needed three.

I vividly remember Weinke and Co upsetting the almighty Vikings (no joke) at that time, only to REALLY suck the rest of the season.

I still remember Biakabutuka fumbling the ball out of the back of the end zone in that game.

A young rookie KR opened the season by taking the kickoff to the house.

His name was Steve Smith.

I did not look at the answers--wanted to guess so I scrolled down:

I am going to guess

Kyle Allen--the other day.

Jake Delhomme--2002

Steve Berlein--can't remember year

(LOOKED AT ANSWERS)    VVVVV

I remember the Weinke--he was from minnesota--went 1-15 that season.

Did not think of Moore.  My guesses sucked.

My mind went to Delhomme as well but he was not a rookie and i was thinking of when he came in to replace Rodney Peete (was at that game and the only time I sat in a box)

Rookie?  I missed that little detail.

Weinke should have been obvious--went 1-15 that season.

Never would have guessed Moore.

The only "rookie" on that list is Weinke.  The others were in the league for several years on various rosters or practice squads.  I wouldn't consider that rookies.

Moore and Allen were both rookie UDFAs.

Not by us.  Moore was on Dallas's practice squad for two seasons.  He played in the preseason with Dallas before he was plucked off thier practice squad.

Allen has been in the league for 4 years now.  That's not what you call rookies.

Are you joking? Surely you're not that dumb.

Kyle Allen was at the University of Houston last year. That's not an NFL team. image.png.61703c9b7c4dadfceda72a2408e3c2a8.png

Matt Moore was not on Dallas' practice squad for two seasons. He was at Oregon State in 2006. He started for us in December of 2007. His rookie season was 2007. image.thumb.png.14c1daa032c13888709c47590795270b.png
