only 2 OL really worth the 16 spot

Jonah Williams

Dalton Risner

Risner isn't even necessarily projected to be an OT or OG at the next level, at least immediately. Some sat that he may be better fit as a center in the NFL (which is a possibility considering that that's what he played before being switched). Ford, realistically because of his strength and athleticism may be deemed to have higher upside. And I would bet that Ford will be a draft riser, regardless of whether he's deemed only an OG or not.

Most of the reports I've read have Williams as the best OT this year (so far), so he'll likely be gone. Moreover, Jawaan Taylor will be in that Conversation. You're also overlooking Greg Little for some reason.

I absolutely believe that all of these guys will be on our radar, every one of them, and it will come down to workouts and especially availability when we're on the clock.

Risner is projected at Center by some because his versatility.  Thats actually where everyone had him coming Into this season.  He moved to LT this year and was a stud

More of the Bigger Writers still have him as a OT.  He's one of the better athletes at the position, and handled Sweat from the OT spot.

Most of the ones who still have him as a Center are

A. Lazy and still have the writeup and scouting report from before this season

B. Just likes his versatility and think he can be a superstar there.

Jawaan Taylor is a project, kind of like some of the florida OG/OT prospects recently.  As good as Florida looked vs Michigan, Taylor looked terrible.

Greg Little stock tanked this year as well.  He has all the tools, was the top dawg coming out of HS etc.  But was Terrible this season.  Most scouts, say only thing that may even hold him in the 1st round is his tools.  But most dont see him as a LT now

Keep an eye on this big fella. He will be our new OT or OG, depending upon his proficiency. Matsko will make him a day one starter.

From The Draft Network:

BEST TRAIT – Functional Strength

WORST TRAIT – Footwork

RED FLAGS – Broken fibula suffered during sophomore year

Ford’s tape is among the best and most fun of the 2019 offensive line class, as he shows everything from high-end promise to unbelievably physical finishes. The muscle of the Oklahoma offensive line, Ford has just one year as a full-time starter under his belt, but already his mental processing and technique are pretty impressive. He’s a mauler at the point of attack, while also possessing the athleticism to get out in space and the agility in pass protection to shut down all types of rushers.

There is no question that right now his physical and athletic gifts are superior to his polish, but Ford has the traits to be a top-tier player in the NFL. He needs refinement and proper coaching, preferably at tackle first and then moving to guard if he consistently struggles on the outside. Ford’s ceiling may be higher at guard, but his value could be greater at tackle if he hits. The redshirt junior should be one of the biggest risers of the pre-draft process and has a legitimate shot to be a first round pick.

Not sexy, but needed. We can pick up on defense in the second and third rounds.

I'll rather get a wr first round , give cam some weapons

For the first time in years we have 0 need to be drafting recievers.  We have weapons.  Protection and pass rush, not so much.

I want a DE at 16, but a good Oline starter will also put a smile on my face.

I go O-Line with #16 , D-Line can wait to second round. The Colts got back in the playoffs this year because the drafted every starting o-lineman the last couple years with a pick of # 40 or higher. We have to be able to open holes for CMC and keep Cam standing or you can forget making it back to the play-offs. The Jaguars are a perfect example of this great Defense pitiful offense line play.Out all the teams who made the play-offs this year all of them have much better O-line play than ours but I would still take our Defense over the Chiefs, New England, Eagles and maybe the Seahawks.

It seems big 10 and big 12 make the best offensive linemen. Oaklahoma has done a great job of producing offensive linemen.

that said I would rather have a guy that’s average physically but is good technically.

orlando brown from this draft did horrible in the combine but ended up being arguably the best rookie tackle.

how many times have we seen a player do great in the combine or be a freak atheletically and end up being a bust?
