Does Tepper really want to win

Of course not.  Not bad enough.  Even a monkey could see that defensive end was and is our biggest need, and our all time single season sack leader was and is available at 30 years old with the tread of a 25 year old, is loved and adored by teammates and coaches, etc., and the man obviously said no to the delight of the other 31, while felons Tyreek Hill and Frank Clark forge ahead to January football.

Someone said it on NFLN or ESPN not too long ago that theyre are only a handful of teams that consistently try to win each year. The rest are just trying to fill stadiums up

But nothing fills stadiums up like winning.

People, owning a franchise is not that profitable if you consider what you could make with the money it costs to purchase a team, maintain facilities, pay salaries, etc.  Tepper knows how to make money, and if that was his only interest, he would not buy the Panthers, he would buy stocks.

Putting your stamp in a team doesn’t happen year one. It can but it’s not a fast process. The man hasn’t had this team 8 months and he is expected to not only have a new front office but coaching staff?  He has his guys. Those guys are maybe under contract still. Tepper will put his imprint on this team but it will be 3-5 years. In the mean time some of the current old crew may have to serve as place holders until everything shakes out. RR sucks but he is in the top half of the league and will keep revenue stable until Tepper gets his grip and can make his moves. This isn’t a video game. It’s real life and can take some time. Maybe Tepper a being a bit conservative but there are a lot of moving parts and too mich change too quickly under new leadership could throw us into a Cleveland spiral. I’ll reserve judgement on Tepper until 5 seasons in.

Jerry was a former NFL player. And had a ring for himself.

Tepper is a rich bald man who has more important things to worry about than football. This team isnt his source of income.

It’s like a hunter who loves hunting and has done so since he was a kid with his dad. Thats jerry. Tepper is one of these rich man who goes to Africa to kill a Giraffe for the fun of it.

That’s the dumbest thing I have heard. The panthers weren’t JRs primary source of income either. They were a passion. We will see in time how passionate Tepper will be with his team.  Nothing is Tepper’s source of income anymore. The only thing he has left is his legacy and we are that path. Let’s give the man time to adjust his focus.  It’s a delecate balance to want to buy a 2.3 b business and then flip it year one when it’s currently not broken from a business sense.

I'm not going to say I know the answer to that question

Does he want to win? I "believe" so. I "believe" every owner that is actually a fan of the sport their team is in, wants to win. I "believe" Tepper is a fan of the sport.

But as you said, I believe you have to put genuine time into it and hire the right people. I would love to hear his honest opinion on why he decided to keep Ron. And no I'm honestly not trying to hear no injury excuse, but he refused to comment

I’ve been hoping since the Seattle game that Ron was getting das boot...but some of y’all are crazy. Tepper just bought the team...we all saw the article where it said he was highly considering dumping Ron but was counseled by his friends and contacts in the NFL to be patient and not knee jerk. A) we still haven’t heard anything from him or that he and Ron have had the big after season pow wow about staff and direction etc...so really at the moment most of y’all are crushing him for not being a Jim Irsay/Trump style ego led A-hole that has to tweet every thought he’s having. Maybe he felt like he should have a private meeting with his  head coach and GM before he releases a statement  go from there. That’s actually very reasonable. B) Ron has 1 year on his contract...it’s not like we’ve heard rumblings of a contract extension either( which yes would make me question him more right now). So if he gives Ron a list of staff and direction demands and Ron acquiesces...giving him a make it or break it chance while also seeing if Cam’s shoulder can get back right while not changing offensive systems at the same time is actually pretty reasonable and not going to make me throw him under the bus or lump him in with JR after not even one full year. I know we’re all passionate fans and Ron has made me want to throw poo at the tv before but if you take a step back it makes sense that such a successful businessman is being methodical about making his first HUGE decisions and possible changes to the franchise he just bought. We saw Haslem make several mistakes being so reactionary as the Browns owner. Maybe he’s trying to avoid that mistake. IF he gives Ron a prove it year and Ron fails the one season doesn’t set the team back that bad...he hires a new gm and coach next year and at worst cost is one season. If he blows up the team and goes into full rebuild and bets wrong it can set the franchise back like 10 years.

i know I’m probably speaking to deaf ears but all this is not as easy as hitting the season reset button on madden. Patience Danielson...happy new year you crazy obsessive mofos haha cheers
