i appreciate your input. You ignore 90% of the post to focus on 10%. Its cool.  That 10% however, no matter how bitter it was in your mouth is not in violation of any forum rule.

I'm perfectly at peace that you dont like my opinion...and yes i see your attempts to shame or otherwise discredit my opinion that I am freely allowed to express within the rules of this site that rarely if ever get enforced.  I concede I look like a dickhead for expressing an opinion you don't agree with. I'm not bothered by it. Who are you that I should be concerned how I look?

LOL.  Enjoy your sandwich

You’re allowed your opinion and everyone else is allowed to express how dumb that opinion is. Welcome to the Internet forums!

Cool. Glad you finally came to understand and respect that. It seemed to have escaped you an hour ago. It's almost as if you are repeating what IO said to you to try to save face because you had no comeback!

P.S.: Still waiting for you to somehow express your clout that your opinion is any more important than mine or anyone elses. Let me save you the trouble in sying you dont like mine. Tell me again who you are? Nooone? Just another random user with an opinion you say?

Nope. Cam wasn't depressed enough to be making 4 babies in what...6 years?  He wasnt depressed enough to keep cashing checks. He wasn't depressed enough to keep talking about swag and sauce and fug everybody else.

I'm not sure what being depressed would do to make you not want to have sex or make babies.  He earned his checks he was cashing in.  Don't remember "fug everybody else".  Talk swag and sauce, maybe that's his "show".  I don't want to speak for Cam though.  None of us know if Cam is depressed unless one of us is Cam or someone that is close to him and he has confided in that person.

You don't get to act like a badass and epitome of men, then come out with some bullshit like that when you are hurt and feeling bad your season is over.

This is a statement that makes it hard for people to get help.  Saying you can't be a man or badass if your depressed. "I'm Wyank.  I'm a man.  I don't need help with my issues.  I'm not some pussy who needs someone to talk to or medication to fix me. I'm not a broken bitch"  Finally going to someone and admitting I needed help was hard and embarrassing but it shouldn't of been.

I don't believe I have ever really said anything negative about Cam...but damn this makes me so over his ass. Depressed, going into the second surgery on the SAME shoulder TWO years in a row, but will come back with the same non-NFL footwork, but hurt, broken and in rehab, sad depressed player making THAT kind of money?

I don't know if anyone here actually knows if he is depressed.  People are just reading into his post and coming to conclusions.  However he has earned his money.  He had a great first half of the season and injury hurt his second half.  Injury acquired from doing his job so in no way means he shouldn't get paid after unable to do that said job.

Ron called it " the new norm". Think about that for a minute folks. The star of the team,  the LEADER. and highest paid player cant practice as much as everyone else because its the new norm...and that was after just one surgery. Next spring and Summer, will he only practice once per week with the team after 2 surgery?

That is not and should not be a "norm" that my friends, is what so many of us use when we play golf. Its a HANDICAP.

I am not ok with the new norm either.  The new norm seemed ok until we realized the new norm included unable to throw the ball father than 10 yards. I don't want him off the team but I don't want the Offense to be handicapped by a QB who can't make throws downfield.  I don't think his paycheck should be changed but I wouldn't be heading into the season thinking he is the starter. Realistically we should be prepared to accept that he needs more time to heal than the off season allows.  Luck being the example of both extended time off due to injury and that Cam could come back as a great QB again if given the time to heal correctly.  I feel your concerns about his throwing shoulder along with knowing his footwork most likely won't change at this point of his football career is a valid concern for us fans of the Carolina Panthers.

The possibility of him being depressed does not make me think he can't perform on the field though.  Depression actually helped me with my sports as well sports helped me with my depression.  I put more effort into my play because it gave me attention that I wanted while playing also gave me an outlet to relieve some of my issues.  It wasn't until I graduated and no longer had sports that I started to fall deeper and find other fixes.  Not everyone is the same but being depressed doesn't mean he can't play football at a high level.

Finally a non troll that can address the issues I raised. I know it's hard for some...and you sir will get called a sucker because you address the comment. Its much easier for those simple minded people to just poo and laugh rather than address an issue they pretend to care about.

For me the issue of Cams supposed depression or not is not an issue. Can is one of the highest paid athletes in the world. If his "depression" is that serious, he should do the professional thing and retuire and address it for his sake, and his family's sake.

I'm not knocking on Cam for having mental issues. I'm knocking on him because apparently he had these mental issues, and hid issues far many weeks ago when we was at the podium smiling when we were 6-2 and talking about his hat maker and his sauce. THAT was the time to express he had mental disorder. THAT was the time to say all this mess. He didn't though. So it seems suspect he only says this now when this team failed like noone ever expected. So many want to say RR is scrambling for his job. Cam is also!  Dude is shedding light on something that ( again, team leader, highest paid player...highest profile player)  hid under the surface UNTIL we are out and its a good time to be sad.

You are correct. Being depressed does not mean he cant play football. But please forgive me if i feel that being depressed means he cannot or should not be the leader and QB of an NFL team.

Again Cam even having depression has not been confirmed.  It was an instagram post around New Years about being a better version of himself in the new year.  Half of my friends list on social media could be depressed if I went with new year/ new me as a reason to believe someone is depressed.

Retiring wouldn't necessarily be the best thing for him and his family if he was. Could just add to it as another thing lost in his life that he thought he could always count on having.

I don't think there ever is a time a person has to out themselves to the public as having mental issues.  It's pretty damn personal.  Hell he might not of even known when we were 6-2.  Having depression or fighting depression doesn't mean a person is down all the time.  It's like a roller coaster.  A person can have high highs feeling great but those low dips are dark.  Being 6-2 feeling great.  Great high on the roller coaster and then crash.

Being able to lead or being an NFL QB while depressed isn't up for us to decide.  If his teammates still follow him and have his back, I dont see why not.

Time to draft a quarterback in the first.  Dudes a head case.

We’ve lived through Kerry Collins, Rae Corruth, Kevin Greene and Smitty.

If you’re calling Cam a headcase for reasons besides your own pettiness and and bias I’d love to hear them.

I skimmed through a few post in this thread. I am not sure if Cam is depressed or not but it’s not for me to judge. I hope he seeks help if he is struggling. Battling depression isn’t what people think and it’s not easy. I learned a lot from it myself. It doesn’t matter if you are “rich” or anything. If you are human, you can be effected. Robin Williams, Chester etc . Anyone can be touched. Heck even Primetime which had everything went through. More people need to get educated about it before throwing off the wall comments about someone that may be battling. I am disappointed to a lot of stuff I read on here at times. People are allowed to have opinions but people wants Cam to be like a robot that needs to do everything they think he should be doing. Then I read the point about making babies, come on guys. That’s not cool. I’ll just leave it at that

It's been almost a full decade of this bullshit. It's time for even longtime Panthers fans to start accepting culpability in all this for how long this has been allowed to fester and spiral out of control. For years people have either settled for trying to ignore the rhetoric about Cam or just awkwardly chuckling and moving on to another discussion hoping to avoid it all because it's an inconvenience to them. That's not how life works. Ignoring bigotry has done nothing for America as we can plainly see. Just because it's sports and he's an athlete doesn't mean you can avoid doing what's right.

They won't. They're too worried about clicks.

I could care less about clicks. I don’t get paid for this. Jeremy doesn’t send us marching orders from up on high to not ban racists. I issue warnings and bans all the time.

If someone says “black quarterbacks are dumb” or some ridiculous poo, they’ll get banned.

If someone says “Cam isn’t right in the head and his shoulder is shot”, I can’t ban them for having an unpopular opinion.

My reports box is filled with alerts I go through and tbh 75% are bullshit so it’s hard to keep up

I can understand that. But some people on here develop patterns of behavior that clearly define their personalities.

Do you see anyone around here dedicating conversations to the clothes Luke Kuechly wears, how many kids he has, what his sexuality is, or even the most innocuous details of what he does in his private life in the offseason? Do you see anyone going around calling him a variation of "Scam" like people are doing with Newton without consequence?

I sure don't.

But I'm sorry being a mod is hard. :eyeroll:

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
