Montez Sweat 6'6 245 DE/OLB

Call me when he puts on 30 pounds. He’s gonna get thrown on his head repeatedly at 245. No wishful thinking picks in the first. We’ve got a ton of holes that need to be filled and can’t afford to miss on picks especially early.

He's not a top 20 pick because he's  a project. DeMarkus Lawrence came out of Boise at 6'3" 250 and everyone of us would love to acquire him. He has put on 20 pounds and it hasn't affected his game.

I wouldn’t mind Sweat in the first, OT in the second and Lukas Dennis in the third.

Unless you're draft top 10, it's tough to find a day one impact starting DE.

Thank God we didn't screw up and lose an opportunity to draft a legit DE in the top 10 by winning any pointless game.

There are projects that go in the top 20 literally every single year. Hell, all draft prospects are essentially projects. None have every played a down of NFL football. Plenty of "sure thing" prospects have become busts.

Things will obviously change and they're meaningless, but seen a mock draft or two with Sweat in the 2nd round.  Doubt he's an option at 16 unless he kills the combine.

There are zero reputable mocks that dont have him in the first.

And his teammate Simmons is rated higher. He could possibly be in play at 16 and is a position of need

Lawrence has a great first step and his hand movement is ridiculous. Damn i miss having violent aggressive DEs.

Simmons is going to drop with his baggage.

Would not suprise ne to see him fall into the 2nd

No one has him going in the 2nd

 

In fact pretty much all have him going higher than OT Greg Little, who some were wanting at 7 if we had the pick.

If he comes into the combine at 250+ he's going to be borderline top 15.  He comes in at 240 he'll fall but still stay a first rounder

Baggage? Hope you at least know what you are talking about? A deranged woman came into their yard and physically attacked his sister. He pulled her off and hit her. No one is going to hold that against him, especially when he was All American, All SEC Academic and has had no issues since that time.

Dude got charged for assault and was suspended.  Wouldnt just suspend a guy for pulling someone off protecting his sister.

He didnt just pull and hit.  He straight laid out the girl

When you know what your talking about let me know. It was before he got onto campus, the woman was charged with assault and later committed. And yes, he hit her 3 times and she was not laid out.
