Moton LT of 2019? Not so fast...

You are suggesting that the Panthers put a  free agent unsigned scrub in the second most important position on the offense because he protects your QB more than any other player--and move the player who is slated to play LT for the next 10 years out of that important position because the unsigned scrub felt more comfortable on the left side?  Is that what you are telling us?  (I know that RR said it in an interview--but you don't really believe it, do you?)  In reality, Ron did not want to embarrass Moton by moving him out of the prestigious and important LT spot back to the RT.

Even after we lost 3 QBs to injury, do you really believe this story?  You are explaining why an NFL team put a $25m QB at risk was due to the fact that the guy the GM signed (before Newhouse) wanted to play LT over a good LT, so they moved the good LT to a lesser position?  Is that your perspective, and you want to challenge another perspective based on that excuse?

This explains it. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000503855/article/ranking-each-positions-importance-from-quarterback-to-returner

It is much more realistic to think that they did not have a LT on the roster so they signed a journeyman LT.  Decided to go with a shorter passing game to protect Cam, keeping Moton on the right side to have a better run game (behind Moton/Turner).

You answered all of your questions yourself.

Yes, they signed Clark because they lacked other viable options. Yes, they put Clark on the left because he had more experience there and would be more effective than on the right.

I'm sure they modified the passing game for two reasons - Cam's shoulder and the lack of quality OLinemen. Just seems to make sense and it sounds like you agree.

But I answered them without your twist.  Clark was signed because Moton is not a LT--Not because  he wanted to be more comfortable so he picked LT.  Get it right. I explained myself and it was not agreeing with you at all.  You think Moton can play LT but they decided not to--letting Clark pick.  That is not accurate, logical, or smart.   Nobody said they lacked options but you and you are far from accurate there--the signed a vet with LT experience to keep Moton on the right side--if they thought Moton is their next LT, they would have played Newhouse on the right side or picked up a RT.  I listed the options.  Come on---you are really reaching to prove an idiotic concept.

The blind side where TJ Watt didn't come from when he hit Cam with the hit everyone thinks was the big blow? Newhouse wasn't put in until the end of the year and that point Moton was way too comfortable at RT to make a change that affects two positions.

What is your point? So what? You are making things up that show your lack of understanding of the Left T position.  You don't protect your QB's blind side because your LT was "too comfortable" playing somewhere else?  OK--that makes sense. ?

Nope. Sorry, but you are wrong.

They brought on Chris Clark once Williams went down a second time. Clark was the best of the FA tackles out there and he was more effective on the left side. Moton was effective on either side, so it only made sense to move Moton and plug in Clark on the left. I don't see what is so hard for you to accept about that, but you do you.

"He's more of a left-handed player," said Rivera. "(Left tackle)'s been the primary position he's played."

Should the Panthers decide to play Clark at left tackle, it would present yet another game of musical chairs for second-year lineman Taylor Moton. Though his natural position is at right tackle, Moton was slated to compete for the left guard position early in training camp before Williams tore his MCL in the first days of training camp, necessitating Moton's move to right tackle. But when left tackle Matt Kalil had to have his knee scoped, Moton then moved to left tackle, which he played in the second half of the preseason and in Week One against the Cowboys.

Now you are grasping at straws and being ridiculous.  Bottom Line--you play your best LT at LT.. End of story.  Your argument (if that is what you call it) is a pathetic attempt to go to so much trouble to prove an idiotic idea.

If you are using the Left handed argument--that has become a joke.

LOL!!!

I'm not the one who made the decision. Go yell at them if you want, but you probably want to wait until you're 18 to do so.

What I presented was supported fact. This is what the Panthers did. You are trying to argue against a decision they already made!

Stay in school, kids.

Press comments from a coach about personnel is not supported fact---They make statements without throwing players under the bus...You use the word "fact" as if you know--I never claimed to know "facts"-I claimed to know football common sense, and that is why you don't get it--it is hard to google common sense.  You proclaim (in the wisdom that you apparently attribute to your age) that I am "wrong."  You think you know the facts.  How belligerently asinine.  (We had those as vocabulary words in English class last week).  "But, but Ron said that he is left handed...."  Not football common sense.  It was a stupid comment that you now use to support your position.  Sad.

You just can't handle having your ass handed to you by a teenager.  Go away.  Take your infinite acumen and sophisticated cognitive functioning to a land where you can find equals to your intellectual superiority.

You're an idiot. You can't support your position, so you resort to typical teenage tactics. You won nothing and everyone can see it. Sorry, but it's true.

Enjoy your mom's basement.

Actually, I have a doctorate degree in Education and I deal with ignorance all the time.  You are a case study in illogical reasoning.  I will quote you in my next book.

I will take your advice and enjoy your mom's basement.

Just give it up. Everyone gets it wrong once in a while. Just move on to the next topic; don't make it worse.

    • Because being a pauper in the NFL is still making a king's ransom. NFL vet min is roughly 18x the median salary in the U.S.
    • At some point I sense it's gonna create some hate and locker room cancer between these cap hogs and the rest of the players. When the top 6 or 7 players take 80% of the cap, the other 40 plus guys are gonna get pissed off, especially when they're still only winning 5 or 6 games. Why put everything on the line to play with guys who are only in it for themselves?
    • I am just spitballing here--let it play out and I will go to bed: Let's say Mahome's contract comes due and he insists on $100m per season.  Is there a team that would find the money to pay it?  Would KC? It was in 2015 (I think) when Cam was getting $20m and it was hard to grasp.  In the past decade, the price of a franchise QB has tripled.  Then the next QB bases his contract on the Mahomes deal.  The trend has been the last QB contract is the highest.  I see nothing to discourage that trend--Greed can destroy a league.  Personally, I don't watch baseball any more, and the NBA has a small group of about 8 teams that appear on national TV and they have players who make more than some eastern block countries.  Ticket prices go up---and we are headed for pay-per-view very soon across the board-
