Moton LT of 2019? Not so fast...

SMH. We’ve been through this. He was the LT from preseason to week 1 and he looked really solid against a good Patriot DL (their starters) and a very good Dallas DL. When Williams got hurt and Kalil’s vagina was still torn, we picked up Chris Clark who was much more comfortable at LT. We move Moton to RT because he has shown the ability to play both well. Why, after 15 straight weeks at RT, would we move him to LT for 1 meaningless game?

Moton can easily play LT, but it’s going to depend on if we can sign Williams and he’s healthy or if we have to draft a tackle. Williams is only a RT and we know that. A drafted player depends on who we draft.

The thoughts that Moton can’t be LT or that Williams can be LT and Moton RT or that Moton’s a better guard aren’t formed in reality.

Shake your head all you want,  but this game was a chance to see how he could  do against real DEs.  If you think preseason and game against a depleted Dallas pass rush, give out medals if you want.  If I am thinking of him as my LT of the future--I play him there yesterday--to see what I have at the end of the season before the draft.  Why is that such  a head scratcher for you?

Thats totally illogical ...a solid LT always plays LT...

Clark was not suited for RT, which is why Moton moved there. If Moton moved to LT for the last game, who would go to RT?

Of all the attributes Moton possesses, RIGHT NOW, his biggest attribute is flexibility. The Panthers can see what options are out there and respond accordingly. I expect Williams to be signed on a make good deal and Moton to take over the left side. However, if an opportunity presents itself, then perhaps they draft/sign where appropriate.

He wasnt playing because we still wanted to put our best OL on the field.

He has shown he is a solid LT.  Dude handled Lawerence in Dallas better than most OT in the league.

So because he had a good game against Lawrence, we know he is the LT of the future and do not need to give him work there against the Saints DEs?  Interesting.

Does he?

This isnt a dam Byron Bell is Left handed so he is a LT  argument.  If a dude os a stud OT he's a stud OT.  You know half the fugging OTs drafted started out at RT in college.  If the kid can play he can play

Only illogical think here is Huddler wanting to replace a guy who has proven he can play LT.......in the NFL.......including handling probowl DE.  But wants to draft a dude who has tools but get beat by college edge rushers

Holy poo

So youd rather draft a project guy who gets beat by college edge rushers instead of sliding the guy back over who the staff likes and has proven he can handle it vs good teams and top players in the league.  Holy poo

Rodrigue's story on the future alluded to this, but she almost with certainty stated Darryl is being brought back, and Moton to LT makes sense then.

LT - Moton  LG - Van Roten  C - Draft Pick (Bradburry from State please)  RG - Trai   RT - Darryl

Draft an OT for depth and development, keep Larsen around, one other vet and there's your best case scenario OL

Who else you putting

Our dam OL is already spread thin with injuries.

Clark is like Byron Bell is he lefthanded bs and cant play RT.  This was stated when he got here.  And Matt Kalil, they have already made the decision he is gone and have seen what he does vs the saints, your not going to put him lut there at RT vs the Saints

Wrong again. I had this argument with someone else. He played RT 3 out of 4 years in college and RG 1 year. His senior year at RT was the one with the most accolades. This better as a guard is one of those BS myths because there was one blurb on his nfl.com draft profile that said he might be better at guard because he had a great game there one time against Ohio State. That’s it. He’s never played guard for one snap in the NFL and even Ron said they were grooming him for tackle which is why Amini started 3 games in place of an injured Turner in 2017.

He’s played very well, top 25 OL (all positions) at RT. Why would we ever think about devaluing him and putting him at guard when he’s been a tackle 5 of the last 6 years?

Wrong?  No.  You need to learn something about the NFL--we were not trying to win the game--if he is the LT of the future and has 1 NFL start at LT, you play him at LEFT TACKLE.  My G comment was if RR does not want him  at LT, as yesterday would suggest.  Your logic?  Play him at RT because he will  be a good LT, but  not G--What?

If we re-sign Williams and RT is taken, what do you do with Moton?  Unless RR thinks  Kalil will be the LT next year, you  play Moton at LT in this game--period.  If not, Maybe Moton is slated to be a G, to get your best OL on the field.

I would have him at LT and I would have played him there yesterday--Speculation that includes what might be the thinking is not my thinking---Damn son.
