Blaming Rivera

I’d say Moore literally costed us two football games with his fumbles. So not a fair comparison you are using here.

Add Funchess multiple drops game Seattle, Gano missing every kick in Detroit, And Cams dead arm since week 7.. But nobody remembers circumstances that may not be the coaches fault..

So we can’t beat the Lions, or the Browns, or the Bucs in Tampa, but we can waltz into the Superdome with Kyle fugin Allen at QB and blow out the number one team in the NFC, nay the NFL after losing 7 straight games.

Let that sink in.

It's that topsy turvey, wacky upside down life of a Panthers fan.

The same number 1 team you held to 12 points a week ago?? Could it have been a matchup thing maybe??

You also neglected to mention context in those situations..

I'm not saying Ron was great but some of those losers weren't really a coaching issue..

Example.. We lost to the Redskins because DJ had 3TO by himself right? Was that a coaching issue??

I didn't mention the Redskins game, but I clearly recall Ron not going for a very makeable 4th and 1 early in the game that could have shifted momentum our way.  Yes DJ was bad that game.

I didn't like the call to go for 2 in Detroit, that was coaching.  Ron didn't trust Gano to make the XP,  but the following week against Seattle he settled for a 50+ yard FG with the same Gano, who of course missed.  But the common denominator in most losses (minus the first Saints game) was a horrific defense.  Ron's specialty.  I will maintain that our defensive play (no pressure, poor tackling, massive cushions off of WR's) and leadership was the key culprit to this wasted season.

That's stupid.. You can remember a bad coaching decision in every game from every coach .. No coach is perfect.. But there were legitimate and multiple player screws ups in most of our losses this year.. Context example

Seattle Game Devin dropped everything plus Cam had 2 TO but you blame Rivera 1 mistake??

7 losses in a row

No consecutive winning seasons in 20+ years

Season after season of overpaying and keeping vets

watching better players ride the bench because coach loves him some vets

But hey... we gotta keep pounding cuz if you don’t youre a fake fan

The Tampa game.. How many Redzone TO did CAm have?? Is that Rivera fault his QB got injured..

It's his fuging fault he was playing hurt to begin with.   Before you call someone stupid, think about the poo you're spewing in here.  I've never said that player mistakes haven't cost us throughout the season, but if you seriously can't see the coaching deficiencies that have held this talented team back over Rivera's tenure, then I guess you don't want to.  An owner won't cut a franchise qb because he didn't perform well while injured, but he might wonder why the coach kept trotting him out there to continue taking beatings to the detriment of the team.

No I can tell the difference in bad coaching and bad luck.. This year was more of the latter.. Losing by less than 7 points in 8 losses is the ball not bouncing your way more than bad coaching.. So keep your stupid opinion and I'll keep mine.  I'll just add actual facts and context with my opinion..okay sweetheart..

It's his fault he kept playing a QB that couldn't make the threw. Hell yeah that's all his damn fault.

Who the fug was he going to go to??

Wait did they invent a QB tree on mint st??

I don't remeber any of you screaming "hey let's put in any of the inexperienced, never played a down of real football, frail backups we have on the roster " while we were still contending for a playoff spot.. Show me that thread 6 weeks ago..

Plain and simple geniuses..

We got sucked into a bad luck year..

Usually you don't win when you lose your starting QB or he isn't healthy..

We didn't have a quality backup which  most teams don't..

Way to many injuries at the same position..Like OT and Secondary.

It happens we had bad luck.. Again not saying Ron is great but add context to your opinion..

Lol why are you bringing our team’s entire resume in here? This thread is about people blaming him for not tanking yesterday, and then calling out those people who wanted us to lose. I’m sorry, but if you actively cheer for us to lose in any situation then yes I’m gonna call you out for being a fake fan and quite literally, a loser. Furthermore, cheering for us to lose against that smug douche Payton and his merry band of swamp rats, giving them back-to-back season sweeps against us in addition to their best ever regular season record for their franchise? Hell no....get that out of here.

Remember when we had already largely unraveled and people cheered for us to keep losing and miss the playoffs in *hopes* that Rivera would get fired? How did that work out? Oh Rivera is still our coach? Man I’m so grateful for all that losing now. Hey let’s now lose again in *hopes* that we draft a better player because of it. Y’all can take your hopes and faith and I’ll take the pleasure in watching my team go out and win their last game for the next ~8 months.

But hey, don’t take my word for it...go back and watch how our team played yesterday and tell me that was a group of players who knew that it was in their best interest to lose. Go walk up to one of these players in the street and throw a hissy fit in their face and ask them why they didn’t purposely lose so we could get a better draft pick.

I'll add on to this that no draft pick is a sure thing, no matter where they are picked.  Just look at Fornette and the Jags.  Pick #4 in a RB class with CMC, Kamara, Hunt (pre-DV), and others.  Yet, they found the big bust of the bunch...even when most had him as their #1 back...including many, many huddlers.

There's no guarantee that a guy taken at #9 is going to be any better, or even as good, as a guy taken at #16.  I get wanting the higher pick, but there's no point in getting so mad just because we dropped a few spots.

Personally, I'll take a team that always fights to win over a team that gives up and accepts losing in hopes of a better draft pick every day, and twice on Sunday's.
