Jake Delhomme - 42 Pass Attempts...

It doesn't matter who the QB is at this point. For most of the game Jake played well, but the play distribution just defies all logic. The early long pass from a struggling QB into one of the league's best pass defenses? Are you kidding me? Passing more than we run? Way to let the opponent dictate things.

Start Moore or Feeley, it won't make any difference as long as Davidson is running the offense.

:yikes:

like i said jake was throwing short passes all game..so he had to throw more..i think we ran at good times..and the passing would have been fine if jake did not throw the picks he did

Your right, when Jake is asked to attempt a pass of more than 10 yards its 50/50 completion to INT ratio at this point. There isn't much for the Jake apologists to fall back this week since the offensive line didn't suck.

Can any of us say we are surprised, really?

We have no decent QB, and the guy has been on decline for several years; we don't have a decent #2 reciver or a #3 that is reliable; the days of Muhammed/Prohel are long gone.

The days of decent special teams have been gone for a very long time.

The one thing that irritates me the most about Fox, after a succesful season, usual against lesser opponents, he's more than happy to stand pat. That is NOT what good teams do, they take any opportunity to make themselves better.

It just simply time for a change in Charlotte. Jake's time is up and Fox/Hurney's should be too. Oh yeah, take that extra position held by Rhys Lloyd with them when they go.

Yea man heaven forbid a coach in the NFL call plays for his NFL player.

poo is all on Jake, if he can't hack it throwing NFL passes, then what is he doing starting in the NFL?

All of this stems from Fox anyway, so after he is gone we won't have to worry about Jake.

Plus it was that same Davidson that let Jake get all those easy throws to the RB's, which were so effective in making him "look" good.

All of these pass were very short..So yes they had to throw more..becuase jake cant throw long without geting picked..we ran when we had too..IMO the stats are misleading for this one.

I have to agree.. a lot of these were dump off passes and very short.. perhaps the equivalent of a run without the effect of a defense totally stacking the box...

However, I have a feeling Davidson's mindset has a lot to do with his game plan with a sufficient QB and not factoring Delhomme's inadequacy... If you think about that statement, it might make more sense. Perhaps he isn't adjusting to Delhomme, but short of giving up on calling plays, I'd have to say it's not so unbelievable... The fact that he did adjust to shorter, dump off plays shows he is trying to adapt..

I can't say it's a total negative on him in this instance when he is trying to make something work in an almost impossible situation...

Davidson's gameplan between the 30's was pretty good and the 44 passes were mostly smokes, screens, dump offs etc. They worked today when the bills were often putting 7 guys on the line and 9 in the box.

The problem was that jake was totally off today. He even threw 5 yard passes over the receiver's head, was behind most receivers all day and other than the one pass to Barnidge had no touch on medium to long passes. The two picks that mattered were poorly thrown balls to receivers that were wide open. He couldn't even hit Moore when he was wide open on the sidelines.

I said in the past that Jake gave us the best chance to win but I don't think that is true anymore after today. As someone else mentioned, the gameplan could have been run by Moore or Feeley and frankly Jake has lost his Mojo. He doesn't have the ability to make plays and move the ball like he has for years. It is mental but it is there nonetheless.

At 2-4 we are out of it and we aren't going to beat tough teams with Jake the way he is playing. So I am joining the group that say let Moore or Feeley play and see what they can do. I don't think they will play worse than Jake with the same gameplan Jake had today.
