Tepper wants changes... what will we get

Ian Rapoport, who mentioned last night that Rivera and GM Marty Hurney are believed to be safe in Carolina.

Rapoport added that there could still be some changes to their coaching staff with Steve Wilks being someone to watch if the Cardinals elect to fire him next week.

--Depending on how talks go after the year and whether Rivera is open to making the kind of changes Tepper’s expected to ask of him, La Canfora says it’s at least possible this situation could deteriorate.  <---------

Tepper will not make any changes that cost money. Ron is under contract, coach contracts are 100% guaranteed in the NFL. Firing Ron and paying him to leave only to turn around and hire a new HC and paying him too goes against everything Tepper knows as a business man. Also, Don’t forget, the Panthers are a “cash cow” PSL franchise. 60,000 of the 70,000 season tickets are paid for in April of every year. That means he has a guaranteed sell out 5 months before the season ever begins regardless off the product...how nice is that? The fans buy the product in full before the product is assembled. Translation = Tepper could care less what the fans want. He’ll continue to get paid, and roll out a mediocre team.

as long as ron and company are still around it is still jerrys team..who in the heck buys a team and keeps the incompetent trash that are perennial loses around ?

Tepper bought this team as an investment only. He paid $2,275,000,000.00 for the team...a cash transfer no less...paid in full. He will receive approx. $2,000,000,000.00 in tax benefits within the first 10 years of ownership. So he’ll make an owners share of profits for as long as he owns team. Taxes benefits will reimburse him of the initial cost to buy the team within 10 years.

And the point is?

Curious where you are pulling these numbers from?
