Ron and Marty stay, Panthers beat Aints

I still think Ron is gone.  If Tepper knew he was staying and just left Ron to sway out in the wind having to deal with the drama, he's just a perverse asshole.  Or, in other words, Tepper would have removed the cloud hanging over the team if it was a done deal he was staying.

He hasn't.  That should tell you something.

It may have been a meaningless game for New Orleans, but it wasn't for the Panthers. Sunday's 33-14 victory ended a seven-game losing streak and kept Carolina from becoming the first team to go from 6-2 to 6-10 since the league expanded to a 16-game schedule in 1978. It also wasn't meaningless for quarterback Kyle Allen before leaving with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter. In his first NFL, start the undrafted rookie showed he may belong in this league. It also wasn't meaningless for center Ryan Kalil and defensive end Julius Peppers. Kalil is retiring and Peppers, 38, may be too.

nothing says being a divisional rival’s bitch other than your opponent not even giving a fug about putting their best 45 on the field bc they clinched everything they could already and they had nothing riding on this game

well maybe except for getting routed by their backups anyway. but besides that...
