I’m just gonna go ahead and say it before this game is over. All you little hot heads that are saying we need to trade cam just need to stop. Anybody who’s anybody on here know I’m very critical of cam when I feel his play is poor but he’s our quarterback and will be unless we don’t bring the money or he wants to leave.

It’s truly been a pleasure watching him play over his tenure so far and I hope we keep him for a long time more.

We need to get a young developmental backup. Al La patriots style. So if cam gets hurts we can have someone to rely on.

But this get rid of cam stuff needs to stop.

Cam is our qb but with his busted shoulder he sucks , this was the best qb performance I seen all year .if cam can no longer throw the deep ball he needs to go

My sources are telling me that every quarterback we put in after Cam has taken a couple big hits and couldn't finish the game.

Trading Newton isn't an option.

Sending him back out on the field without properly fixing his shoulder shouldn't be either, but probably will.

So right Mr Scott

sending him out without a blue chip LT isn’t right either in my humble opinion

it is time with that draft position to do the right thing

no telling about Willis s and his contract demands.  Get a great rookie LT that plays on that rookie contract

I am with you...but...Cam should not play if we have to bring Allen in every time we want to throw 50 yards.  He should sit until he is fukking healed.

And this is another one of those things that bothers me.

We have a capable left tackle. We just decided to put him on the right side and trot Chris Clark out on the left.

Yes. I agree

the issue with the LT position is going to continue if we do not have depth at right tackle as well and yes I know rt is easier to find then left but if the chance is there for a true left with Williams uncertain and no depth behind behind him, we need to pull the trigger on the most non qb position

not to worry I’m sure it will be a DE and the QBs continue to suffer

there are also contract demands to consider with Williams and Moton and dead money from Kalil. We need to get a cheap LT to carry through that

just my thoughts

Absolutely. Quoting an actual GM we need to stock up on Hog Mollies this draft. This side on the O side. Maybe 1 DL.

To Mr. Scots point I’m not talking about playing him if he’s injured still early next year. But I am saying he is a leader and our number one QB period until he decides to leave or we stop paying him. I know there are a bunch of actually proclaimed cam haters but all these middle of the road sky is falling folks need to stop.

    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
    • We're in a great position to see just how big of a misstep it would be, having made so many ourselves
    • I didn't say I would have done it. I was just saying that I can see why some in the FO considered it. Everything was done to give Bryce weapons. Solidify the interior line thru FA. Get XL at WR in round 1 and then get the most talented RB in round 2. Take a TE in round 4, etc They were probably "assuming" he'd make a complete recovery during the 2024 season. I'm a skeptical person. I wouldn't have assumed he'd be ok in 2024. I personally would have taken another position in the 2nd for that very reason. But, if I were "influenced" to take him I would've argued to keep him off the field, especially seeing how things were going for us record wise. Conventional Wisdom says most backs don't get back to normal until two years after the ACL surgery. He was injured in Fall 2023. Having him suit up in 2025 would have been almost 2 years since the original injury. You have him for 3 year on low contract. If he balls out, you resign him for a couple of more years b/c he'd only have 3 years of tread on the tires. If he's ok but not great you let him walk.
