team full of vets coming off a super bowl appearance from a couple seasons ago with a coach who has lost the lockeroom, both teams finished the year 7-9. I made this comparison about 11 months and was praying to be proved wrong... well fug me I was right. I think this organization is starring down the barrel at a total rebuild, Its not going to be pretty. For the first time with cam newton at the helm I'm going into the off-season saying we have no chance at sniffing any hardware next year. Can anyone revitalize me and say we have a chance? Ill always be watching but man, to see our window close how it did just stings.

Are you open to the thought of otherwise? I ask because most folks just want to vent their undies rather than discuss. Dont want to waste your time nor mine :3

I am, I honest to god try and stay as positive as possible. Like I said in my post this will be the first off-season since 2011 that I feel like we have no chance to re-tool and contend.

1) Offseason, offseason, offseason. Remember last season when the Saints were $25M over the cap and we thought they were about to descend back to the cellar from whence they came? Yea... regardless of faith (or lack thereof) in the front office, one off season can make ('17 Saints) or break ('16 Panthers) a team.

2) Returning players: Cam, CMC, Armah, DJ, Samuel, Wright, Moton, Turner, Thomas, Palardy, Kuechly, Shaq, KK, Addison, Bradberry, Donte. Sure, KK might not have played well but he is a Pro Bowl UT. All of the guys listed are contributors and show well.

3) The offense will have had a full year under Norv and will be even more settled into it next season.

4) Assistant coaches are being evaluated, and they are the ones putting in players. Funchess the target of a WR screen on 3rd & 15? WR coach might have been the person who put Funch in there. If the assistant coaches are on the same page as the coordinators, we can get the best available personnel out there (AND coach up technique). Rivera is reportedly going to be calling the defense again.

5) Tepper is big on data and will DEMAND that analytics be given more leverage

6) No more JR

7) there is a chance that we cut Matt Kalil

8) No matter how awful you will feel, reading the Huddle should things fall apart will keep you cackling on the toilet at work.

Lol.

we have more young offensive playmakers than we have had on a long time, maybe ever.

We also have a couple good young corners.  Do we have holes?  Of course we do.  But that is what the draft and FA are for.  Let’s see what happens during the off-season before giving up hope on next season.
