Kyle Allen should be our backup going forward

I'd agree that Allen earned a spot higher than Taylor Heinicke, and that's if Heinicke is even brought back (which I wouldn't guarantee).

Still can't see going ahead and naming him the backup though. Giving him a chance to can feet for the job next preseason though? Absolutely.

To be honest, the quarterback that made the worst possible argument for being the Panthers backup next season was probably Teddy Bridgewater.

Pretty much. I expected one backup QB to ball out but I expected it to be theirs.

I said in the preseason that Gilbert was better than Heinicke.

Yeah I saw that..

We have ppl in this thread saying they thought Allen was the guy all along.. Which I'm calling BS on.. He only played 1 maybe 2 qrts and wasn't good in either plus he was clearly 3rd best in that competition which was my point..

I thought Gilbert was better Than Henikie also..

That was shocking, wasn't it?

I mean, it'd be one thing if he just didn't look great. He actually looked kinda bad.

Now granted he might be rusty, but he plays in a very quarterback friendly system and a guy who's only been seeing practice squad rrps for part of the year outplayed him.

If I were him, this game isn't one I'd put on my audition tape.

Hurts him heading into FA, but the play calling didn’t fully embrace his skill set — which could be chalked up to strategery

Yeah... Nobody actually said that.

if you're going to try and argue, at least be able to read and understand the points you're debating.

It's still Payton's offense though.

Hell, Luke McCown even managed to look good in Payton's offense, and he was playing against our starters.

I guess you found a 10 year old to reply for you..  For some reason I thought you didn't talk to 12 year olds.. lol

Dude, how people are so rock hard on bridgewater blows my mind.  He sucked in Minnesota before getting injured.  he was just not good.  He was a black jimmy clausen, all checkdowns.

If I recall correctly, the pre-draft analysis of Bridgewater suggested that he might fit best in a West Coast offense. That made sense given his performance in college.

Turner runs a Coryell. As this season has shown, he can adapt it, but at heart it still doesn't really fit Bridgewater's skill set.

Right :eyeroll:

Look, kid. We're actually trying to have a football discussion here. I realize you don't have much of anything relevant to say, but you could at least try.
