Tepper driven staff changes report from talking heads

Tepper is basically telling Ron that he needs to fire his buddies who should have been fired weeks ago. We know how loyal Ron is so this might not end well for him.

The guys that are most likely to be fired aren't his buddies though.

He already let go of DL Coach Brady Hoke in order to keep his buddy Eric Washington. LB Coach Steve Russ (who, of the defensive coaches you probably have the weakest case to fire) isn't his buddy so Rivera would probably have no problem letting him go.

And the guy who's got the strongest case for firing is his longtime friend Richard Rodgers. He already fired his assistant so there's nobody else to scapegoat, but we know what happened the last time people tried to get Rivera to fire him.

so canfora somehow knows what tepper is going to say to ron in his exit interview? and ron doesn't know? and knows that without tepper sticking his nose in washington would still be dc? and the assistants in particular were requested to be let go by tepper.   idk if the article really makes sense.  we'll see.

So the philosophy is going to be to fire assistants but keep the same people in charge and expect things to change...

Brilliant :eyeroll:

Eh...  it all depends tbh

I once worked for a company with two other managers. One of them and I were on the same page, but our 3rd mgr was never on the same page as us.

Unfortunately, our EVP loved the guy because he ran some bullshit reports with doctored data every week for the EVP to show the CEO. These reports always showed his team as being the best, but they were far and away the worst. No quality, no quantity. We regularly set them up for success only for the following shift to come in to a mess.

We couldn't get rid of the other manager, no matter how much he tried. We had weak, toxic leadership above us.

So we spent about half of the year blowing his team up and restocking it. Problem employees came to my shift as I had earned a reputation of turning analysts around while the stronger ones went to the other manager who's team had more client facing issues to handle.

The result? We put out better metrics than we ever had. We also effectively neutered him because we got access to his queries, wrote them so that the data wasn't skewed, and gave raw reports showing before and after.

Now granted, as soon as I left the EVP put in a friend of the other guy in my place and all of that work completely went to poo, but now there is a lot more notice from the board since they saw the shifts taking place and have requested that we used the newer reports. My point here is that we can succeed in spite of ourselves. Put enough talent in and around, and they will do the heavy lifting.

Hell, it worked for Shula.

Tepper will discuss the matter candidly with Rivera after the season; should Rivera blanch at all about the scope of changes required, it is at least possible this situation could deteriorate.

Ron isn't going to blanch at poo. He going to do whatever, just like with Gettleman. This is the position you're put in when you lose, you follow and shut up
