Is anyone else THRILLED?

I am far, far from thrilled, but a little part of me is happy not to have to build my next several Sundays around this team that I haven't really believed in the chances of since Week 1. That's a pretty small silver lining, and I'll still watch most of the games, but much like baseball and basketball, I really don't care about a season's games (except for stuff that relates to building chemistry/identifying studs for next year) if my team has no chance of making the playoffs -- so this will save me some time, I can go in and out of watching these next 9 follies.

I'm not happy about the loss but I am happy that it probably put the nail in the coffin for Fox and Delhomme. It's just blows my mind to see him continually let Jake go back out there, no matter how bad he does. Is there any other NFL coach that would be so stubborn as to stick with a QB that has over 3x as many ints as TDs? It's not fair to the fans or the team to let one guy take away any chance of winning.

The problem isn't just ints either. Even when he's not throwing picks, Delhomme can no longer consistently make the throws that are required of an NFL QB. Teams have absolutely no fear of our passing game, and that allows them to stack the box against the run. At this point, what is there to lose by allowing Moore or Feeley to start? At the very least, they can't really hurt the team much more than Delhomme is doing.

This reminds me of the twisted satisfaction you sometimes get when you advise a close friend or family member not do something and they do it anyway. When they get hurt because they didn't listen, while your disappointed they got hurt, you can't help but smile I bit on the inside in a "That's what you get, you deserved what you got!" kind of way.

Just reminds me of seifert and weinke.

Any fan who's happy about a loss like that needs to be kicked squarely in the balls.

That you would rather have your half baked ideas about running this football team validated than to see this team find someway to win points to a lot of things you shouldn't be proud of.
