Breer believes the Panthers will make no changes

So Tepper is a billionaire who by all accounts is pretty sharp and is a good judge of people and gauging future trends. He apparently thinks Rivera and Hurney have done a good enough job to deserve another year. I think he knows a lot more about football that fans on this board who are always critical of Rivera and Hurney. Funny how Tepper was touted as a great owner and very forward thinking and now is being compared to Richardson because he isn't burning everything down. Maybe the problem isn't Tepper but all the critics who apparently put everyone who doesn't agree with them in the same basket.

True.  We probably are on the worst skid in NFL history for a 6-2 squad because of critics.

I have heard of negative fans causing losses, and lot's of them, but had never experienced it before now.

Nobody really know what Tepper is as an NFL owner, save maybe a few people who he worked next to in Pittsburgh.  Even with that, being a minority owner with little to no say is a lot different than being THE owner.  The NFL is a different breed of business and trying to gauge how good or bad a new owner will be based on his success in unrelated businesses is questionable, at best.  That is true of a lot of businesses, actually.

The fact that he has not said a lot thus far is a plus in my eyes.  The opposite is Jerry Jones, who despite successes here and there is not Clint Murchison, Jr. (for those of us not older than dust, like me, the former owner of the Cowboys).  Or the Yorks (San Fran) who may be the worst owners in the NFL and in contention for the worst in professional sports.  Contrast that with Robert Kraft, who doesn't say a lot but when he does, he means it (right or wrong).

I'll form a stronger opinion of him based on what he says and does when he says and does it.  As far as inaction, it is way too soon to judge him on that.

Don't extend Gano, keep Butker, and we could have afforded Ryan Fitzpatrick with just those savings alone.

That is why you don't let Marty Hurney around rosters in the NFL.

Maybe if we didn't sign M kalil, Munnerlyn, or Shepard we would have afforded a good backup.

Or, instead of going back two offseasons, you could just go back 1.

Hurney made a boneheaded move, it backfired per usual with him, and here we are.  We could absolutely have made the correct decision with the kicker, and the backup, but we didn't.

The logic that being a billionaire makes you a good football owner may be one of the silliest things ever posted here.

Mike Brown, Dan Snyder, Jerry Jones, Michael Bidwill, Alex Spanos and several others make that notion an absolute mockery.

Yes we know. Hurney does nothing wrong. Gettleman does nothing right.

You could at least try to actually contribute something worth talking about, you know.

Not sure how you got this from that post.

Classic Scot - diverting from the original discussion.
