Rivera throwing in the towel for Week 17, per Rodrigue

Let’s be real honest here, Tepper probably doesn’t have Football as his main objective right now and understandably so. The Markets are undergoing some extremely weird and volatile changes at the moment!

With him being the owner of a capital firm known for hedging investments, I’m quite certain that’s where his mind is! Hopefully he has someone in mind as the new GM that will take care of the team while he takes care of the business that allowed him to buy the team

A snippet of Jourdan Rodrigue’s report on Ron:

That might mean players such as running back Christian McCaffrey, who has played 96.95 percent of the Panthers’ offensive snaps this season, and linebacker Luke Kuechly (97.67 percent of defensive snaps) could get some rest.

“What we have to do is we have to be smart with these guys going forward,” Rivera said. “We also have to get an opportunity to evaluate (other players) ... You go into Week 17 obviously trying to win. But at the same time, we have to be smart. We have to be realistic. Be honest.”

lol, whatever is the most stupid and illogical choice for the long term well-being of the Carolina Panthers, Rivera will do.

Because that's what he has always *ALWAYS* done.

Because he's a fugging moron.

Marquise Haynes is 1 of 2  DEs

Hayne's is still listed on the offical Carolina roster as 235 lbs (the same weight he was at the NFL combine).

Unless the are lying their asses off, Hayne continues to have NO future in a pathetic Rivera 1980's-90's defense as a 4-3 DE.

Tepper hasn’t made his billions by making irrational and emotional decisions. If he decides to keep Ron another year that doesn’t mean he’s another JR, it means he feels like with the right moves Ron can be successful. And that means getting rid of Hurney

Intentional blindness.

Stupidity.

Take your choice.

But, by all mean, let the Caroling organization flush another year or two of Newton/Kuechly down the damn toilet.  It seems to be what they are comfortable with and what the Carolina inrbred fanbase wants.

This seems to be orders from Tepper and Ron is just the playing the yes man at this point. Ron has never done anything like this during his time here. The call to sit Cam definitely sounded like it came from Tepper and I could see him saying shut it all down since we are officially out of the playoffs and a top 10 draft pick is huge. Ron didn’t sit a single player in 2016 except sending Luke to IR which was expected.

This news actually makes me more confident that Ron is gone come Monday. It all seems way out of character for him.

Nah. We will win 10 games next year just to continue the cycle.

Normally I would agree but the circumstances with the team do not lend itself to a successful outcome next season.

If the situation with No. 1 does not get resolved correctly the odds are increasingly against a winng season.  Not to mention trying to revamp an aging defense.
