Gary is just that kick your ass d linemen, he could be as athletic as Fletcher Cox and as dominant as Cox if he got his strength up. I'd play him anywhere on our line where there is a mismatch.

Is there a DE in this draft who can play on the line and standup as an OLB?

I want someone like that kid New Orleans drafted last year. An athletic freak!

Gary is obviously an amazing athlete. His production at collegiate level is a bit underwhelming. I will stop short of saying he won’t succeed in the NFL but he reminds me a bit of Solomon Thomas coming out. He’s mostly a projection who is sold as versatile but hasn’t been outstanding at a particular position.

If he fits the bill and he's available I hope we pick him.

*I got to start watching college football, im tired of being clueless when it comes to the draft.lol

I don’t watch nearly as much college ball as I use to. However I am addicted to scouting and prospect numbers and top players coming out of high school and so on. So most of these kids I start to hear about coming into college. The rankings at the top stick in my mind. Over the next 4 year some sink some swim and if they stay true to there potential you hear about them in round 1.

As a scout for a pro team I start there.. who were the freaks that were at the top of the rivals 100 the 5 recruits because college scouts were looking at these kids since grade school they have the highest potential. The freaky numbers and most likely nfl starters. They have done half the work for you. I use college numbers and production to confirm they are true to what was shown coming out.

After that I just listen to multiple sources NFL draft heads, the kippers  mcshays the rotowold, cbs sports all that. I listen to scouting podcasts at work from now til draft day. They talk draft year round and you hear different opinions on the same guys and you start to develop some knowledge of what to expect from them size first step so on. After that I end up with favorite players and start to look at them individually on my own and see what the hype is all about. That’s my process.

Don’t focus so much on production. Texas tech and Hawaii QBs break records every year but none of them live up to anything(excluding mahomes). But plenty of guys just show traits which is what u look for the projections as u call it. Ansah,Josh Allen, Wentz, Mitch trabinsky it however you spell it all lacked a lot of elite production but the traits were there.

It's basically Peppers' role early on in his career here when he was a double digit sack artist.  If we can find a Rucker/Johnson to compliment, that would be perfect.  Gary can go 1 through 5 tech in a 4-3.  Versatile 3 Down 4-3 DE.

In general, I'd personally love if we moved to a more multi-front 4-3 on a regular basis and got an OLB that was a pass-rusher type like Seattle does (AZ, ATL are trying variations).  Then we could draft a Sweat type to compliment who flexes between OLB and 5 tech.  I'm talking a speedy pass rushing OLB/DE who has size.  So not a Haynes or Addison mold.

Josh Allen?  Did you not just describe what he would add?

You maybe right, but for every player that’s true of, there’s another for whom it isn’t true. Gary was a #1 recruit and he didn’t live up to his promise at college level. What do you see about him that you like? Is there a particular game of his where he showed dominance worthy of a top 10 pick?

I’m just curious, I genuinely don’t feel like I know better.
