Could Christian's success lead to another shattered sterotype?

Well, there are physiological differences between races when it comes to sports. People of African descent generally have muscle fiber configurations that allow them run faster than other races. There are outliers of course but being anti-science for the sake of being PC is wrong imo.

Would love to see the “science” behind your premise.

Football is a lot more about desire and heart than race, muscles or reaction times.  There is a basic athletic threshold (which men of all ethnicities have crossed), then there is the heart and desire.

Race is overplayed.  Look at the push factors that drive our greatest athletes and you'll see why guys make it to the NFL or not.

The existence of hand wringing about this is simply mind boggling after the outright racism we've seen on display in the NFL in relation to players like Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid. That's not even mentioning billionaire owners comparing players to inmates, the POTUS referring to kneeling players as sons of bitches, or what we've seen Cam Newton endure the last 8 years.

You have to be extremely tone deaf to be concerned about something like this on Christmas day over all the other issues going on not just in this country, but the world.

People are soooo G*DDAMN sensitive about race.  OP posted a pretty neat topic that he's asking for opinions on, and it's getting twisted into him "complaining" about white people not getting a fair shake.  That's not even close to the case.  He's starting a legit conversation that I think is interesting.  Pull the sticks out of your a$$es people.  Christ almighty...

To OP - my opinion is that we won't see a white starting CB for quite some time, simply because the elite talent isn't there at the moment, but I do think the more players like CMC that come out, the more likely we are to see white people in positions that require "athleticism", just like we continue to see more and more african american QBs playing at a high level in positions it was always assumed they couldn't play.

I'm glad you actually understood the original purpose of my post. I wasn't trying to start a controversy.

Someone had remarked about Christian going over a 1,000 yards in another post on our forum.  He stated that Christian was different from the  Caucasian RB's have done that in the past.   Jim Taylor, Larry Csonka, John Riggins, and Peyton Hillis were considered power backs. He (and I) feel Christian is an entirely different type of runner.

1) He's smaller than all of those guys so he doesn't bowl you over but he hits the hole quickly like most small RB's do.

2) He has the ability to stop and change directions almost without effort.

3)He's a great route runner and receiver. Some scouts at the combine thought he may have been the best route runner there.

4)We've seen him literally leap over defenders while carrying the football so we know he has a great vertical leap.

All of the above attributes are what you look for in CB's today.

If a white player with a similar athletic profile to Christian wanted to play CB, I was just wondering if a team would give that individual a chance to compete for a job. I was not my intent to start a serious racial debate.

Of course they would, though probably in the nickle if you're talking identical measurables to CMC. That's why your entire premise is stupid. There's not some legion of Lilly white super athetes struggling to break through a color barrier to be given a shot to play. Trust, that if there were, every team would have the next great white hype at every position possible.
