Could Christian's success lead to another shattered sterotype?

I recently asked 2 people (one black and one white) if they believed that there are athletes out there in college and in the pros who are capable of playing CB in the NFL who are denied or not considered for the position because of race and they both said yes. I tend to agree with them.

Christian has shattered the myth that a Caucasian athelete cannot be an effective RB in today's game. Do you think his success could (or should) lead to change in how GM's and coaches view prospects for the CB position in today's pass happy game?

We haven't a white CB start on an NFL team since Jason Sehorn played for the Giants in the late 90s/early 2000's. He could hold his own with Michael Irvin and  Randy Moss in his prime. He was a legitimate starting CB until his tore up his knee while running back a punt in a preseason game :eyeroll:.

I heard Michael Strahan say Sehorn was probably the best athelete that came through the Giants organization while he was there.

Any thoughts?

Yes Christian himself was a top CB in high school running 4.4 with hops. He and many other white guys could play Corner in college and nfl but don’t get the opportunity. Many top white athletes from high school never get a college offer due to skin color. Most recruiting agencies like rivals won’t consider a white corner or rb.

these stereotypes are bad for both sides if you acknowledge that its positions that white players cant play like running back then you have to acknowledge that maybe it some positions that black players cant play.

It used to be that people thought African Americans couldn’t play qb or mlb but that’s changed so I think the idea  that whites can’t play rb or corner should change also

Race has nothing to do with football

I think we all agree that it shouldn't. Unfortunately, history shows racial sterotypes have affected they way teams have stocked their roster.

The original purpose of the post was to see if any of you Huddlers think some teams may began to think outside the box in the near future when it comes to the CB position.

If I were a GM I could care less about someone's race/ethnicity if I could suit him up at corner and keep Antonio Brown or Odell Beckham Jr. in check. There may be some guys out there who can do just that but may never be given a opportunity to do so.

We’re a pretty diverse team then historically:

*Black QB (Newton)

*Black MLB (Beason)

*White HB (McCaffrey)

*White WR (Patrick Jeffers)

Well, there are physiological differences between races when it comes to sports. People of African descent generally have muscle fiber configurations that allow them run faster than other races. There are outliers of course but being anti-science for the sake of being PC is wrong imo.
