lol if you're excited about ian thomas

There are people not excited about Thomas? Why?

Like it or not, Olsen is likely done. Thomas has looked really promising and looks to have some real YAC ability too. As great as Olsen has been for us, that's one area that he never excelled at. He never was much of a YAC threat.

Aggressive towards the ball, extends arms, improved from early mistakes towards the beginning of the season, solid blocking, super young, great story and an athletic+basketball background.  Had a very nice TD against the Falcons and has made very solid catches throughout points of the season.

maybe you guys have seen more of his plays than i have - i've missed a couple of games this season. i'm no scout but i just haven't seen anything from him that doesn't seem like plucky plays from another JAG. i'm perfectly fine with developing him but god forbid he's a TE1 next september.

Since Olsen went down, he has caught 20 passes (on 25 targets for an 80% catch rate) for 185 yards and a TD. Extrapolate that to 16 games and it's 80 catches for 740 yards and 4 TDs. No, that's not prime Greg Olsen production, but that's pretty damn good TE play. In terms of yards per game (46.25) that would be good for 9th in the NFL this season. He's a 4th round rookie who was very raw coming in. If you're not excited about this kid, I don't know what to tell you.

Understandable Philly.  To be fair, we can't expect him to take the league by storm and he was taken at the top of the fourth round for a reason.  If I remember correctly though, there were a handful of teams gunning for him after Mark Andrews was gone.  He could wind up becoming pretty solid for us so am looking forward to how he develops.

Since taking over for the injured Olsen in Week 13, Panthers rookie tight end Ian Thomas has caught 14-of-16 targets for 123 yards — accounting for 56 percent of his total catches and 59 percent of his total receiving yards this season. That’s more catches than the 49ers’ George Kittle, on more targets than the Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski, for more yards than the Eagles’ Zach Ertz over that span.

Obada with that ERFA so his production will definitely out match is pay and also like 3rd on the team in pressures if I am not mistaken.

Convert the D to a 34 hybrid type and have him come off the edge as a standing OLB. He will make noise again and be even better next year.

Ian Thomas, Curtis and DJ Moore in regards to our offensive weapons as the future.

Cam Newton and DWill on seeing if they can recover to be 100% as well dominate in their position again. I hope Cam gets his shoulder figured out, I want for him to finish his career here with a SB.
