Why does Heineken have a team captain patch?

Strange he already has one considering the hand wringing here over Newton not getting a C patch his first season.

it's a perfectly plausible coaching move to make the transcendent talent who's gonna be a long term starter "earn it" to develop him as a leader and give it to the poo kid who's not actually going anywhere to motivate him and not completely embarrass the team.

i made thread not realizing captains could be re-designated game to game.

I get that, and I personally don't really have an issue with it under that circumstance one way or another. Honestly the only time I can recall the C patch getting a lot of discussion here was with Newton. Never before in the days of Delhomme did anyone pay it any mind beyond the annual thread listing team captains. That was the only point I was making.

But you have to admit that it kinda makes you double take a bit considering the shoulder shrug sense of this move is from the same head coach that benched Newton over a tie.

In the past we have given the patch to AJ Klein when Luke has missed games.

Well, captain or not, whether it's the injury or that he fell back to earth after a great first drive, I don't think I'd put him back in.

Let's be real. We're probably not winning this game anyway. Might as well use the rest of the game to evaluate Kyle Allen.

I wouldn't bet on that happening, but that'd be my choice.

I don't actually know what "jungle football" is.

(you have to remember I'm old and not very hip)

a number of years ago one of those totally-not-racist posters who just don't think cam throws a very catchable ball went on a rant about how we need to get away from playing that jungle football. it was a running joke on here for a while but disappeared in the annals of huddle history

looks a little more suspect when you remember that months earlier jerry richardson carefully inspected cam's skin for tattoos

Good luck getting anywhere with that.

Might wanna start taking a look around at what the hubris from certain liberals in the tinderbox actually amounts to here in this subforum when it involves someone they deem above reproach. Like Igo. It's all punching nazis and telling people to kill themselves until it involves a tailgate buddy.
