He doesn't put that out there without sources. I have heard the same, unfortunately.

But who is the source?  Marty's camp or Tepper's?  They could be different---possibly.  Tepper has not shown his cards until time to play them his entire life--unless he already has.

how am i supposed to cheer for my team when we have a coach willing to get our franchise qb, whom i like, killed?  who keeps talent on the bench, and who would have a team of 35 year olds if he had his way?  who doesn't know how to use a timeout, make challenges, or adjust in a timely manner.   its awful.  i feel like i'm cheering to get cam killed by supporting the team with ron as coach.  it is seriously causing an internal dilemma.  (just learned its not spelled dilemna, huh)

I see this.  RR and MH are too connected if you ask me.  I do not see RR being in MH's ear about talent evaluation  (he begged MH to pick Silatolu after seeing Amini throw people around at North Southwest Early Jr College Tech and Canine Grooming Academy State.

This reminds me of what I heard an experienced GM say about coaches. They hated when coaches got involved in the scouting process because exactly what you just described tends to happen.

Rivera is "that guy".

Tepper talked a big game coming in, but if Hurney and/or Rivera are brought back next season it was all just that - talk. I have no idea how anyone could have watched the Panthers this season and not come to the conclusion that significant changes are required. I don't think Rivera is an idiot or an awful coach, but most coaches run their courses with a team unless they're an all-time great. Rivera has ran his course.

This. If Rivera is retained it will be an instant red flag for Tepper.

F*ck I hope this report is wrong.

Did you actually read, or more importantly, comprehend the overall point I made in the post?

I'm mostly indifferent on Hurney. I didn't want him back in the first place. I've said all along that his time here won't last anyway. I'm fine if he goes, but not if we're going to pretend that alone is going to turn Ron into a better coach. Rivera has never displayed any consistent ability to evolve or learn from his mistakes. You can't keep blaming GM's for his glaring failures. Especially if people are going to continue to tout his "coach of the year" honors.

I read your post. Perfectly fine. In that post you said contradictory things. If your intent was something else well, it looked different. Meh.

You don’t have to be a genius to see that our coaching can’t gear guys up for a 2 minute offense and have no situational awareness. Also a major lag time in making necessary personnel changes. This has held us back and they’ve never strayed from their archaic ways.

the NFL has passed Rivera by and his stubborn as$ thinks as long as his plan is excecuted properly, we’ll win. That started not happening these past few seasons and he’s not changing jack poo.

The roster should get younger and faster next year, as well, and with Rivera in charge of the defense it should only improve.

This sounds very strange considering Rivera is on record saying he prefers veterans over youth because he was a victim of the salary cap toward the end of his career and feels some sense of empathy...

So apparently because of 1 good game by the defense, where that was half of them's last primetime game, Tepper thinks RR should be kept now?  The defense didn't look too great against Cleveland with RR calling the shots...

If Tepper becomes another figure head owner like JR and sits on his ass and does nothing, I am going to be very disappointed... We can't afford to waste the few prime years we have left of Cam and Luke
