Report: Rivera expected to keep job, continue calling defensive plays

Maybe.

I long ago got the feeling that even early on we were a house of cards.

Agreed.

We seldom looked convincing in our 6 wins.  It had more to do with good fortune than good play.

Defense was a hot mess and the offense, while it had moments of greatness, more often than not, sputtered along.  Special teams continued to shoot themselves in the foot at the least opportune times.

So yes, the Panthers were exposed as a paper tiger by the Steelers.

Question is, had Ron taken control of the D earlier, how many L's would have been changed to W's?

Also, when it was obvious that Cam's arm was severely limiting his big play ability, should he have been benched?

How many more wins would this team have had?

Bottom line:  We may have a better idea after today's game if Ron's "Missed Opportunity" was waiting too long to make the changes many Huddlers called for weeks ago.

I get the feeling that if we made a complete list of questions asking what could have been different if Ron Rivera had done something sooner, that'd be a decent sized list.

That is exactly the point I'm not understanding ...

as if hiring a new GM and coach will undoubtedly make it so that we don't waste the coming prime years of Cam and Luke ... in my opinion hiring a new GM and coach gives more of a potential to botch the last prime years of those two than keeping things as they are now.

We're losing games by a couple points because of a couple plays over the course of a game .. we're so close

We keep losing by a couple points consistently because Rivera doesn't know how to manage the clock and preserve his timeouts. I agree their will need to be a couple years to get a new GM and coach acclimated, but I can tell you right now we are not winning a superbowl with RR and Hurney. Whether we will or not with a new coach and GM is unknown, but I would rather take the unknown the known, which is typically finishing somewhere near 8-8 and a 1st round playoff loss if we are lucky.
