We Can Potentially Move Way Up The Draft Board By Christmas Morning

If the draft started right now we'd be around 12th or 13th pick, which is pretty decent. But just looking at the standings here are the teams ahead of us with their games this weekend included : 

• Bengals 6-8  (Vs Browns) 
• Broncos  6-8 (Vs Raiders) 
• Packers 5-8-1 (Vs Jets) 
• Falcons 5-9 (Vs Panthers) 
• Bills 5-9   (Vs Patriots) 
• Lions 5-9 (Vs Vikings) 
• Giants 5-9 (Vs Colts) 
• Bucs 5-9  (Vs Cowboys) 
• Jags 4-10 (Vs Dolphins) 
• Jets  4-10 (Vs Packers) 
• 49ers 4-10  (Vs Bears) 
• Cardinals 3-11 (Vs Rams) 
• Raiders  3-11  (Vs Broncos)

 

As you can see, there is a logjam of 4, 5 and 6 win teams. Its safe to say that Raiders , Cardinals, and 49ers pretty much have chokeholds on the top 3  picks but everything else is subject to change.  

Things that could conceivably happen, us losing to the Falcons and both being 6-9 , Packers beating Jets. What you might be hoping for is essentially all of these 5-9 teams winning improbable games given their opponents, and creating a massive logjam of 6-9 teams . 

Not sure how tiebreakers work but it looks like we could go as high as the 8th - 5th pick , depending on how lucky we get with some bad teams winning games they aren't supposed to. 

Obviously not cheering for Panther losses, but I'm just saying we might get something quite nice out of it if we end up losing our final couple games (which is very conceivable with a backup QB and going against 2 teams that have owned us since 2015 ended). 

Who do you think we could get with the 5th pick in the draft?

I think Haskins will stay at Ohio State another year.

Honestly don’t love any of these QBs that could be available.  Ryan Finley is as good a gamble as any of them and if we get a QB I hope it is him at this point.  Later.

Drew Lock is interesting but inaccurate and makes some bad decisions...still good arm.

Do like Herbert but he will probably go very early.
