Before the 6 game slide, Cam was having a career year.  Many of those loses can be attributed to undoubtedly the SUCKIEST D performance in the league,  poor game management by coaches, Gano getting the yips and rookie fumbles.

Yes he's done for the year, but only these last two games can be placed on Newton's performance.....even that with a o-line whose performance was just pure poo and another rookie fumble.

There will be a time when Cam Newton is done, but it will take a bad season, not a bad couple of games.

I'd ask whether the last two games can be placed on his performance, or whether they are better placed on the brain trust that trotted him out there knowing what his performance ceiling was, given his shoulder issue.

They may have lost those two, anyway, but it is hard to saddle the loss on a guy whose body just could not do what it was being asked to do, especially when the coaching staff knew it.

We pay a backup QB to come in and perform when the starter is hurt.  Who's to say if we had rested Cam for a week or two after he got hurt that he wouldn't have been able to sufficiently recover to get back in time to win two or three of the six games we've lost in a row now, which would totally change the entire perception of this season. Short sighted decisions rarely make long term sense and Ron's about to find that out the hard way.

The last two played games, Cam was not himself....and the oline was just trash.  He was being hit every other play, even on completions.  DB's didn't have to worry about the deep ball because Cam HAD NO TIME whether or not CAM could throw that far.

That said, it is true that not all the blame for those two games fall on Cam.

Most people are simply wanting to know more and want to consider all possibilities.

Yes.  I'm talking to these posts:

This fan base is too attached to Cam, learn from the Eagles mistake.

Cam Newton wasted time signaling first down, talking to Saints before halftime

Stop defending Cam

Cam Newton playing scared

Cam's trade value

Like Sgt. Schultz, I have learned to overlook them (unconsciously) --but i see your point.

Personally, I would love to replace Cam with someone better!!

Who is available and better than Cam?? Well, I don't know.. you think the Packers would trade us Rogers for Cam? You think a Rookie would be better than Cam?

I mean, I'm a long time fan, and I do like our players, well most of them, and I don't like to think about trading them but of course you always better if you can trade a player for a better player... given similar age and estimated career length and good team chemistry.  But yea, if you have a chance to upgrade a position it doesn't cost your cap more than it's worth... DO IT!!

BUT... BUT... Don't go around saying it's time to get ride of someone, like Cam, without some suggestion of how who he is going to be replaced with... That's stupid.

Who knows. Taylor could be the next Jake or Curt Warner and come out of nowhere.

Then we could move Cam for picks.

Yea, sure, if Taylor absolutely destroys it for the next two games then yea let's seriously talk about it.  That would be awesome, and he would be on that rookie contract to top it off!! But it's just going to be a two game sample size... so that isn't really enough unless to know for sure... but yea, if he goes out and does awesome and beats the crap out of ATL and NO then yea.

I mean at some point we will move on from Cam, but not hopefully not when we have no one to replace him.

Remember Delhomme?  He wasn't "great," in fact at the end he was pretty terrible..  but we let him go without a suitable replacement... remember the next few years???  And Cam is better than Delhomme.
