The whole organization, from GM to medical staff, to coaches, to social media (ie. bill voth, etc..) are getting cleaned out this offseason.

So basically, you propose we return to "expansion team" status, only without the extra draft picks and less cap room than three quarters of the league.

This suggests that Ron has a 50% chance of keeping his job--depending on the last 2 games--

I am sorry, but I do not see how winning meaningless games should save your job--your performance when the pressure is off is not indicative of anything.

Tepper got upset (speculation) and RR started pointing fingers.  He fired some coaches, demoted his DC.   But he continued to whip his thoroughbred into the ground.  He blamed players.   Now Tepper sits in on a meeting with  Drs and the GM and they make the decision to sit Cam AFTER RR announces that Cam gives us the best chance of winning.  This article suggests that is not true.

I think Rivera is TOAST.  Any owner who understands football and is not part of the Richardson/Rivera/Hurney fraternity will be interested in starting fresh after this collapse--

The reason you would get rid of the GM but not the coach is largely timing, assuming you want to get rid of both.  If Tepper has a GM in the bull pen, ready to sign the contract and come onboard, and that person has been preparing for the position and has an list of potential HC candidates, a clean sweep is no problem. I keep hearing Omar Khan's name, and he certainly fits that template.  Otherwise, you can wind up picking a HC from the pile of people who are left over after everybody else hired their HC this off season.

If you are Rivera, if Tepper cans Hurney right away and has a new GM in place before the start of Super Bowl week, you feel the temperature underneath your tush rise a few degrees.  If the GM situation is still not squared away when the confetti rains at the end of the Super Bowl, you probably feel okay.

Khan is the most obvious option.

But he may not be the only one.

Douglas is a guy that other teams have been trying to lure her away from the Eagles for a while now.

He'd likely make an excellent GM.

Effort in meaningless games says a lot about the coaches and players.

More than effort in meaningful games?  Says something about the players, not much at all about the coaches.  The fact that the games are meaningless speaks volumes about both.

I mean, this isn’t shocking news but Mike Freeman reporting that multiple front office folks around the league feel like major changes are on the way in Carolina.

I think Freeman perfectly nails how damn frustrating it is to watch the Panthers week in and week out, and year in and year out for that matter.

”The Panthers are the NFC version of the Pittsburgh Steelers. They should be so much better and simultaneously so much worse. In the first quarter, they awe you; in the second, they disgust you; in the second half, your eyes pop out of your head and then glaze over.

Several front-office sources in both conferences believe the chaotic nature of the Panthers will result in massive changes this offseason.”

I don't understand how he says we are the NFC version of the Steelers.

Since 2011 they haven't had a single losing season.

                          US                            Them

  1. 2011:     6-10                          12-4
  2. 2012:      7-9                             8-8
  3. 2013:     12-4                            8-8
  4. 2014:     7-8-1                         11-5
  5. 2015:     15-1                          10-6
  6. 2016:     6-10                          11-5
  7. 2017:     11-5                          13-3
  8.  2018:     6-8                             8-5-1

Doesn't look anything alike

Some here are saying that Hurney will go, but other than he was hired by Richardson, I haven't heard many reasons.  He has been back one year, and the roster moves/draft (other than keeping Gano over Butker) have been solid.   I don't get the impression that Tepper is the kind of guy that will fire someone simply because he is a holdover from the previous regime, but I suppose we will see.
