unfortunately for you getting involved is something that doesn't involve you...it doesnt matter..right? I don’t hate Rivera but think there are some good reasons to move on.   Let the new regime make decisions on Cam for the long term without rose colored glasses or past baggage in the way.  

Personally think the Cam talk is over exaggerated and he is coping with some lingering issues from surgery but is not “done” as some have put it.  But would like for the new folks to make that decision.  Just my .02

The reason you would get rid of the GM but not the coach is largely timing, assuming you want to get rid of both.  If Tepper has a GM in the bull pen, ready to sign the contract and come onboard, and that person has been preparing for the position and has an list of potential HC candidates, a clean sweep is no problem. I keep hearing Omar Khan's name, and he certainly fits that template.  Otherwise, you can wind up picking a HC from the pile of people who are left over after everybody else hired their HC this off season. 

If you are Rivera, if Tepper cans Hurney right away and has a new GM in place before the start of Super Bowl week, you feel the temperature underneath your tush rise a few degrees.  If the GM situation is still not squared away when the confetti rains at the end of the Super Bowl, you probably feel okay.

I'm not sure Hurney is on the hot seat the way so many seem to think. McCaffery and Jackson were fantastic picks, Torrey was a bust but Wright's performed well, Reid makes the safety thing a wash, etc. Some mistakes but he's improved the roster since he came back. I get the feeling it's really just Rivera and Washington coming up short but Hurney and Turner are tied to them.

Frankly, if you tell a GM that he can't fire Ron Rivera, how are you any different from Jerry Richardson?

So basically, if a new GM is told that Rivera has to be retained, it needs to apply to this year only.

Don't think that will happen.

If a new GM is hired, the decision on the  HC is , or should be, his decision.
