Report: Rivera’s job in jeopardy

I agree with this and does anyone think the Panthers would not have made the playoffs if Cam was healthy?  I'm not a big RR fan but I don't see how you fire a guy that has taken this team to the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years because his QB gets injured.  I think next year is the year he's coaching for his job.

The losing streak wasn’t all on Cam though. Ron has a history of being an up and down coach and he still has flaws that he has never fixed. Poor clock management, poor challenges, unable to motivate his best players, bad safeties, keeping Gano for years when he’s lost him countless games. Hanging onto Mike Shula,  promoting Eric Washington.

You just get the sense that he’s always going to be a winning season then a losing season HC. If Cams not hurt, it’ll just be another injury or another excuse. He likes having built in excuses for failure just like John Fox.

Don't expect a head coaching change. Further shuffling on the defensive staff, yes, but Rivera, from what I've heard, will be spared (barring a complete and utter embarrassment over the final 2 weeks).

I don't profess to have ever been an insider, but I am acquainted with someone who can be considered a pretty good source these days.

I could see that. Cam health could give Ron a bit of an excuse as to our downfall this season.

But what about Hurney? heard anything?

So...

Rivera is 53 - 72 - 1
Cam is 17-0

?

NO.

I never said Cam was 17-0. Cam has had 17 game winning drives. Pretty much, in every one of those, you can bet that he was the difference maker, not Ron Rivera.

So AT LEAST 17 of Rivera's victories are a direct result of Cam Newton.

If you want to statistically represent the number of games Cam alone has directly cost us, go ahead.

I don't really have the time to do that. I'm as big a Cam supporter as anyone and wouldn't want anyone else as the quarterback. Your logic is just a bit off.

We can stretch this out and blame defensive players who gave up big plays when we had leads, which won for the other team. Then there's games like Gano's or Funchess vs Detroit.

There are too many other factors to make it worth the time to do.

Want them both gone now but this is what I’m expecting as well.

Im fine with Rivers coming back

Ready for Hurney to be gone for good

No coincidence

Rivera+Hurney=disasters (24-19 thus far, most likely will end up being 24-21)

Rivera-Hurney= 1 bad season. (40-23-1)

I'm not saying it is all on Cam, but I think a healthy Cam Newton with the numbers he had for the 1st half of the season translated to the 2nd half of the season would be a sure playoff team.

The writing is on the wall that the Cam era is probably coming to an end sooner than most expected and Tepper will either keep everything in fact to try and not stir things up for another Super Bowl run or he'll determine that this staff can't make another Super Bowl run and he needs to act fast to get Cam different coaches.  I have no idea what he will do, but I'm happy that we have Tepper instead of JR making this decision.

I don't think Hurney has done a bad job this go around, but I can't imagine any scenario that includes him returning next year.

Contemplate all you want for what will be going on next year with the Panthers but let me leave you all with this quote with regards to the Panthers new owner:

"You really don't know someone until you deal with their money" - Ben Franklin

We are all about to find that out over the next few months .............

Not sure how you fire a former NFL Coach of the Year - who was 11-5 last year - b/c he has a QB who cant throw beyond 15 yards...heck, cant throw 5 yards accurately right now. I think it is amazing that we only lost the last 5 games by 7 or less. Be careful what you ask for, because you might get it.
