So ... How well will Taylor Heinicke perform?

I mean yea we have no chance of winning when the other team knows you arent gonna attempt a pass over 15 yards. That was probably the Stains easiest defensive outing this year based on that. And we still had chances to win.

Agree on the lack of passing attack. Add that Heinicke also has gotten the lion's share of the reps for the past several weeks so it isn't like he isn't prepared. He knows Norv's system and is the backup because Norv wanted him here after seeing him in Minnesota

I'm interested to see for a few reasons. One, is he a viable backup QB and based on your point, he has had quite a few practices to get adjusted. Two, just give Cam the rest he needs and deserves. Three, more traditional offenses are probably easier to block for because  there is less uncertainty which direction a play will go. Four, I would love to see a pass completed more than 30 yards down field.

Y’all are forgetting Ron is the coach. We have around a 1% chance of making the playoffs so Cam will play. He let him play in 2016 with a partially torn rotator.

I think you are off base in your reason Ron plays Cam. He doesn't want to screw with Cam's confidence and leadership of the team. His prevarication about naming a starter was due to deference to Cam and talking to him first rather than having Cam hear about it in an interview. He shows a great deal of respect for Cam which is in direct opposition to the notion he is just using up Cam and doesn't care about him. Everything I see and read suggests that he cares greatly for Cam and his feelings and ego.

This probably makes me a bad fan, but I hope he stinks up the joint. We gain nothing from winning these last two meaningless games.

Would much rather close in on a top ten pick and a 3rd or 4th place schedule next year.

Don't worry, the team shot it's wad against NO Monday night.  They will revert back to the norm this weekend.

Said this on twitter saying it here. This is a no lose situation for us.

If Heinken sucks, great. We get a higher draft pick.

If he looks good, we at worst have a competent backup. At best we have a trade chip.

If he looks pretty decent Ron is going to look like an even bigger failure for not giving us the best chance to win earlier.

I expect him to come out looking pretty decent. Excited, fresh starter with a decent arm. Definitely expect some rookie mistakes but it would cool to see the offense come out guns blazing.

Plus we get the added bonus of Henicke living in Dan Quinns head rent free until 1:00 pm Sunday (insert evil laugh here)
