Let Cam sit and rehab until midseason next year. Sign Kaepernick as his backup.

To end the race baiting going on here lately, I will say KAP would give us a better chance to win right now then Cam. There are better options out there though.

You...I like you and agree with you.  I don't think KAP is a long term solution, I always saw him as a one read qb, never truly developed.  I think of him as a more Veteran Dak Prescott.  I don't care about the kneeling, but I also wasn't a fan of his obnoxious stuff though like the dolphins hat right after getting paid by the 9ers, so all of that together gives me a nah.  We need a young QB in the draft that we can groom.

Oh lord.. this thread will be in the TB or locked in less than an hour.

I wouldn't be opposed to it.  Don't think it will happen, but wouldn't be opposed.  Also don't think we should take a QB prior to the 3rd round in this draft, given the lack of eye opening QB talent on the board.  Grier and Haskins will be gone long before then.

Kaepernick gives us a realistic chance to stay competitive until Cam has fully recovered from his shoulder procedure. You can't find a better backup in terms of being a similar QB to Cam. We wouldn't have to change our system and can still have the RPO in the playbook. Tepper already signed his buddy Eric Reid. The only reason im skeptical about this signing would be the NFL and the refs. I think they would do everything in their power to make Kaepernick a failure on the field.

To the original poster....  YES   But..

You find hardly anyone on this back water hick trolled message board to agree with you.  People love to make things up about Kap ie he is a cancer in locker room,  Yet every player on his team said Kap was great to get along with and no one had issues.  Yet ppl here will defend Cam to death about any issues that get blown up. ie comment about woman reporter knowing routes, etc.

Fact is there is NO GOOD back up QB to be had.. look around the league. Washington just signed and played a guy that has not played a snap since 2011.  that is 7rs at home. Kap has been out 2yrs and from what Reid and other have said he keeps in game shape.

If Kap was on this team this year we would be going to the playoffs not the golf course.  Cam would have been benched to heal 2-3 games ago and we wouldn't be riding a losing streak to best possible 8-8 season.

And if any HC didn't sit your starting QB so he could heal should be let go.  Redskins ruined RG3 because they insisted he play hurt.

I like it....combined with adding a QB in the draft that fits in Norv Turners system...just in case Kapp sucks and Newton doesn't recover or return.
