7 winning seasons out of 24, and a very murky future ahead

After last night's loss, it's guaranteed that in 24 seasons, the Panthers have only had a winning record 7 times. That's less than 1 out of every 3. And as we all know, they've never had consecutive winning seasons.

Change is fast a-coming. Cam Newton's career is potentially coming to an end because of a lingering shoulder injury, Ron Rivera's head coaching status up in the air, and several long time veterans are retiring at the end of the season. The future is very murky and uncertain.

Will new ownership finally end the wild inconsistency and frustration the Panthers deliver their beleaguered fanbase? Or are we coming to the end of a moderately successful era and headed for darker times?

hire who? There are no decent available coaches,..

who is going to trade for Cam which is what it would take,.. and oh there are are no Desean Watson’s or Jared Goffs or Patrick Mahomes or Baker Mayfields in this draft,.. so replace him with what?

who would want to come to this team with no viable draft possibilities and a quarterback with an uncertain future? Oh, half our players are not under contract and our cap sucks.

so what’s Tepper going to do?

We wont be competitive until at least 2020.

it’s not nearly as bleak as it was in january 2009

we can start by getting rid of the old guard and bringing in fresh new leadership

we’ll have a top 15 pick most likely... maybe even top 10

we don’t rly need a complete roster overhaul like we could’ve used in 2011. some areas obviously need help, but there isn’t a dearth of talent across the board like there was in 2010.

tepper just needs to clean slate the executive personnel and the coaches and not do what jerry did trying to stretch out a rebuilding phase for 4 years while slowly edging some guys out and working with other guys and also rallying an owners’ movement against the NFLPA which totally went against the interests of the product that was being put on the field.

Things change fast in the NFL.  The Browns beat both 2015 Superbowl representatives in consecutive weeks in 2018....the Browns.

It's pretty sad that's true, with the Panthers having a losing overall record.
