The Cam Newton Era is not even remotely over and you should feel bad if you think it is

Cam Newton is a fighter. No matter that this team is the new Cleveland Browns, the NFL's laughingstock doormat, or not. Cam does not quit and he won't quit now.

This is the same guy whose Auburn team was losing 24-0 on the road to Alabama before he led the greatest comeback in NCAA history to win the Iron Bowl.

This is the same guy whose rookie year with the Carolina Panthers was so historic and culturally transcendent, strategies involving the NFL Draft have never been the same.

This is the same guy who carried those Carolina Panthers, back well before we were the New Browns/Lions and the league's worst team with its worst coach, to a 15-1 record and the Most Valuable Player award. Imagine that 20 years ago, when us Panthers fans were excited when we got mentioned on the homepage of CBSSportsLine.com. A Panthers player winning MVP. In spite of Ron Rivera, mind you.

I guess what I'm getting around to is that you shouldn't doubt that Cam Newton will come back stronger from this. I don't know how he will, but he will.

This season has sapped the energy and excitement of every Panthers fan in the world, not to mention every player and coach. We're so dead and hopeless about the fact that we're a cellar-dweller with a historic losing streak, but regardless of how much we're going to suck ass next year. rest easy knowing that Cam will not be the cause of it. He'll be back and will put up good numbers. Save the "what can we get for Cam" threads.

It’s over, dude can’t throw a ball 5 yards down the field. Even if he recovers from injuries he will be 35 and past his primes. Time to start looking into the future for a replacement.

Sorry for the bad news but that’s reality.

He's 29 you idiot. Why are you still allowed to post?

We don't know if it's over or not.

But as a team, we have to start making plans as if it could be.

Sadly, Rivera's dumb ass could have a healthy Baker as our backup and he'd still play a hurt Cam. We need a new coach in addition to a competent backup QB. If Rivera is retained, ooooooh boy. 4-12 is the absolute best-case scenario.

If Rivera is kept, he needs to be paired with a new GM who's smarter than he is.

Is just as soon clean house though.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
