Although tbh I'd still be sad.  I can't tell if I'm in the minority of the Panthers fanbase or not in feeling this way but I love Cam, dude's been my favorite Panther since he came to the team.

Agree. I love Cam and want nothing more than for him to heal up completely and once again show why he was league MVP, and be here until 40+. But this recent stretch has gotten me questioning his future here for the first time ever. Whether Cam's arm is shot, he's declining, or it's just an injury that will be completely fine after it heals, I don't know, but this stretch has been the worst QB play I've seen here outside of 2010. It is really just demoralizing. I've been holding my breath every time Cam throws the ball past 7-8 yards. Even the completed passes haven't looked like they have much on them. It's just brutal to see and I don't know if he'll get out of it or not. I really really hope he does.

Like him or not but Newton would not even fetch a first round pick at this point all things considered.  I would certainly take a top 10 pick and run with it.

Can is a rarity as a franchise QB, so you really wouldn’t trade him except for another franchise QB. Of course, if he was old and relatively healthy, then you could more easily assess a decline and value.

But at Cam’s age, you simply wouldn’t trade him unless you thought his shoulder was done, and then you wouldn’t get as much for him anyway. This is why franchise QBs are true investments, especially ones that win MVP and have gotten to a Super Bowl. We should do the only thing we really can - get him healthy.
