What would it take for you to trade Cam?

Very unlikely but every single player in the history of the league has a price. Even the Pats would've traded Brady in his prime if they got an offer they couldn't refuse. So, I'm curious what it would take for you to trade Cam, minimum?

Would you pass up a 2019 top 5 first rounder, second rounder and 2020 first and second along with a young above average starter on their rookie deal? Say, Jax 1st and 2nd each of the next two years and Ramsey or Ngakoue? I may think about that one, and frankly would not be shocked if they offered something along those lines...

Eh that deal is more tempting than I was expecting going into the thread... but I'd say no.  Maybe if Cam played next year and the offseason didn't help and he still looked shot.  But franchise QBs are HARD to find, especially as good as we know Cam is capable of (ie. this year before his arm fell off).  I don't want to risk having to waste more years looking for a QB.

Plus, the QB class for 2019 sucks.  Maybe if it was 2020 and we had a shot at someone like Tua or Fromm.

Browns wouldn't do it I'm sure but would anyone trade Cam for Mayfield straight up? If salaries were equal even with their ages I'd say hell no but Mayfield on very cheap deal for 4 years would be hard to pass up.

It would take at least three first rounders, and I might still keep Cam if just for his entertainment value. It's not easy finding a franchise quarterback, unless you're extremely lucky, it's going to take several years and plenty of first round selections. Everyone looks at the young guns and thinks it's probable to find one, but it's not. Give it a couple years, and I bet several of these phenoms will be out of the league. Even a first overall pick in a stacked quarterback class is still long-shot.

At this point I don't see a team trading anything more than a late 1st... MAYBE.  The secret's out in the league how his shoulder has been injured for two years, and is just putrid now.  Damaged goods = limited trade value.

Team wouldn't get an offer worth pulling the trigger for; play him until his contract is due for extension at which point either he'll be so far gone there's no chance of re-signing him, or he'll show enough to fetch more and you wouldn't have wanted to trade him for a late 1st anyways.

I'd take that deal in a heartbeat and the Browns would be even dumber of a franchise than they have proven to be

Although tbh I'd still be sad.  I can't tell if I'm in the minority of the Panthers fanbase or not in feeling this way but I love Cam, dude's been my favorite Panther since he came to the team.

Man I'm really not looking forward to the day when someone else is the Panthers starting QB, whenever that day happens.

    • What are the matchups, stats and superlatives?   I think this will be a hard game. Bucs are a very balanced team on offense:  7th  in total yards per game, 7th in passing, 10th in rushing. Baker is having another career year even better than last year but despite missing his Godwin and Evans. Bucs defense is poor (29th) particularly passing defense, but we’re also depleted in our receiving with Coker and Sanders likely out. Running Chuba is key but their defense is better against the run. (16th) I think this is likely going to require us to score a lot of points to keep up and hopefully the home field advantage tips the scale in our favor. My other concern is our run defense and being able to stop their rookie study Bucky Irving who the Bucs have shifted more carries to recently and he’s averaging 5.4 ypc and knows how to get into the endzone with 5 TDs so far.
    • This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants. If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
    • Who had the massive meltdown last year? Hope they feel better this year.
