and yes Cams injury is a reason— we were 6-2 and looking pretty awesome before. Our defense was a weakness but had Cam held up and we won 3 of the 5 games lost by a touchdown or less we would be playoff bound with a defense that just found their mojo.

If that doesn't get a damn head coach fired, then nothing has changed within the front office except a face at the top.

Losing your starting quarterback with no viable backup will kill a season for any team.

Mismanaging your starting quarterback starting from the end of the 2016 season until the present will do that.

I was pleasantly surprised with Hurney's moves and draft, but he made one huge mistake.  He rolled the dice with a QB coming off of shoulder surgery with a backup QB that had never played a meaningful minute in the NFL.  If we had decent backup that could step in for 2-3 games while Cam rests the shoulder, we might be in a different position right now.  This is a playoff-caliber team that needed a little more from its QB down the stretch.  Cam did all he could - but if you are struggling to throw a 15+ yard pass, you become very easy to defend.
