Will Tank Tyler actually be a factor?

His size says that...but he has never got a sack..but we need something more at the 3tech..Dlewis cant do it for the entire game.

The 3 Technique is more about creating pressure then getting sacks. The main objective is to force the QB out of the pocket and hopefully you have the edge contained by the DE and he walks right into him. Its a thing of beauty when a dline gets consistent interior pressure. Him at 3 tech with Thomas at 0 is one formidable interior. I think he is better at creating pressure then Lewis and a much better run stopper so win-win.

I think he "can" be, but we'll have to wait and see. He was playing on a bad team in KC and still managed to show something, so that's encouraging. If nothing else, I'm sure he'll be motivated to prove himself to his new teammates.

I was just about to post this.. I'm hoping he can push the OLine back some and help our Ends get around to the QB.... rather than the QB simply stepping up to avoid them.

Honestly I think he will have a bigger impact in a few games from now as he is still learning the system and I doubt he will get that many snaps. But I think when he is in there it will be obvious, my bet is that he will be around the ball carrier on running plays and will be a factor if he is in there against the pass. Can't wait to see big number 93 make some plays!!!

Well maybe we will finally see why they decided to hang on to Hayden. Tank will allow him to play Lewis's spot.

BTW I think Tank is going to help us alot. He will at least provide excellent depth.

I think between Tyler, Leonard, and Irvin we have the center of our defensive line set for years to come. We'll pick up another DT in the next year or so, but those guys are young and loaded with potential.
