Will Tank Tyler actually be a factor?

The Question

Recommended Posts

Entertain me for a moment:

This is not exactly scientific, but with one to three more tackles a game, Tank might be one that you'd add to your fantasy squad. In IDP leagues, good defensive linemen are difficult to find, and Tank was at least on my watch list. Most of the time you are looking at probably about 6 points out of a DT, and Tank has scored an 8.5 and a 10 this year (along with three 4.5s). His production fell of last week (which was expected), but being that he is a DT, it won't take him too long to learn the playbook. So, I am fairly optimistic about his ability to make an impact because if you can show up in fantasy as a DT, then in reality you are doing a good job. Bottom line: he is a big guy with upside from what I've read, so he'll make an impact (if not immediately, then in the future).

So they got leagues in which you have to pick the right defensive players hmmm!

Yeah, IDP (Individual Defensive Player) leagues are more involved because you have to pick defensive players as well, and anytime a defensivelinemen shows up in fantasy, he is usually doing some good things on the field, that's why I am thinking that Tank will be a solid addition. I don't really think it's fair to think of DTs as traditional "impact" players per se because their contributions are difficult to quantify sometimes, but as long as they do what they are supposed to do, which is stop or delay the RB, then their impact is felt.

    • You realize the Commanders and Texans both had trash rosters. That's how they ended up with the #2 pick.   How all of sudden they go from bottom feeders to a playoff team the following season?   I think you don't realize the true impact of a franchise QB. It's crazy people still trying to debate the value of the QB position.   Y'all living in the 90's football isn't played that way anymore. The Baltimore Ravens dominate defense won in a different era. This is a QB era. You can't hit them like you could in the past. The rules have changed in favor of the QB.   Look at the elite teams in the league they all have elite QBs. Without the QB your franchise is going nowhere.   7 years under Tepper and fans still haven't realized this. Well keep ignoring the QB position and we will keep sucking. It's really that simple.
    • He needs to retire. His short stint returning to play for us showed Ho bad his shoulder had degraded.  No team is going to sign him. As soon as he retires the celebration of his career can begin.
    • The recipe over the last 5 years: 1. draft a guy with high athletic ability at a position of need.  2. play him out of his natural position because you have a big hole to fill. 3. watch him struggle.  4. let a young and promising talent grow depressed and apathetic because a God forsaken franchise is ruining what he has busted his ass his entire life to achieve.  The only reason Luke moved to the middle was because Beason got hurt. Think about that. It’s complete arrogance of the coaching staff to tell a player where he’s better suited… or the mark of a desperate team who drafts out of need.    This is what happens to teams that draft poorly and have no depth. Constantly working from behind and drafting for need.
